Fashion Rocks 2007: Music meets Fashion
Features | Michele Obi | October 19, 2007Fashion rocked its Prada socks off last night at the Royal Albert Hall as music met fashion for one of the most anticipated dates this year. Samuel L Jackson along with Uma Thurman played hosts as top artists from the musical arena collaborated with top runway designers. Line ups included The Gossip for Christopher Kane, Dame Shirley Bassey for Marchesa, Rosin Murphy for Gucci and Lily Allen for Chanel.
Highlights of the evening: Whitney Houston making a comeback to remember and Uma Thurman leaving hardly anything to the imagination in a see-through Valentino gown embellished with Swarovski crystals

More pictures after the jump.
Kate Moss arrived in a 1920’s cream flapper dress from her new Christmas collection for Topshop, also customised with extra trimmings from Swarovski. (The dress will be auctioned in aid of the Princes Trust)

Joss Stone opted for a clean, fuchsia figure hugging dress.

Heather Graham shone on the red carpet in a flattering strapless number.

Ohh Uma’s gorgeous without showing off in see through gown. Is she trying to be like Sharon Stone – reveal body parts to get more parts? Female actresses complain about being stereotyped as sex symbols yet they themselves dress like it. Ugh.
Kate Moss is looking surprisingly “healthy”. Heather’s strapless number is gorgeous.
Yes I watched this and was really looking forward to it but I was very disappointed. The show seemed really flat, aside from Rosin Murphy, Timberland and that rock group who had the models doing that game with the chairs, all the acts were very mediocure. The first ever Fashion Rock was brilliant but since then the show has not lived up to it’s promise.
Really? You think it was just mediocre? I really enjoyed it. You’re right though I think everyone expected Whitney to perform and felt disappointed afterwards. But considering the state she’s been in over the past few years it has to be said that she did look amazing AND after Britney’s performance I think its best that artists wait until they are fully prepared to take to the stage.
Yes the concept for Stella McCartney was creative and different. It was definitely a good idea to do musical chairs. My only complaint really was with Samuel L Jackson…they gave him some really cheesy lines….but he seemed to be a great sport!
Fashion rocks was limp. The two for one offer should have been a bargain but for the viewer the fusion gave less than it promised. The models were in heels while some of the singers sang flats – Did you hear Mark Almond?
Apart from Timbaland, Keyes, the rock group playing musical chairs the rest were rather tepid like the worst fast food that offers more than it delivers. But it was good to see Whitney she’s looking well.
I am glad she didn’t sing, that would have just finished it off for me.
OMG…Marc Almond was awful…cringe worthy infact!
I wonder what handbags are of better quality – Gucci or Fendi? What’s your opinion?
i loved fashion rocks exept iggy pop there fashion and music were terible other than that it was good .the best desiner was valentino!!
