We haven’t been too keen on the Gold by Giles capsule collections for New Look. While the first two collections have had a couple of cute pieces they just haven’t been strong enough to force us to sit up and take notice. But Giles must be doing something right because he’s just released his third collection for the high street retailer and just in time for the party season too. Out of all three, this collection is definitely the most successful and coincidentally there are three party dresses in particular which caught our eye.

This black cocktail dress and 1920′s flapper dress (see porfolio.com for an interesting observation about the flapper dress) made our shortlist. But our overall favourite has to be the sleeveless purple satin cocktail dress, £35 (above) available at New Look. It’s a great colour and we adore the sequinned embellishments!

About us

Welcome to My Fashion Life!

Launched in 2003 My Fashion Life is one of the UK’s leading top fashion blogs. Recognised for combining all the quality content you’d expect to find in an online magazine with the honest opinion and tone of a blog.

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
