Pretty florals for Spring. Predictable, right? Not, so much. For Spring ’08, designers such as Balenciaga, Prada and Stella McCartney have taken an otherwise obvious trend and pushed it to new limits. Oversized flowery prints in bright and startling colors, molded and cut into interesting shapes make this coming season’s floral pieces anything less than mundane.

In fact, most of us will probably be wondering if we’re daring enough to pull off such an artistic and fantastical trend without looking like a one woman flower show. But if you’re ready to give it a go, here are a couple of tips to help pull off this tricky trend:

1. For a bold look, grab a short frock in striking hues and be sure to complete the look from head-to-toe, with statement jewelry, chunky heels, and an unwavering confidence…like the ever-fab, Jennifer Connolly.

2. If you’re more of a wall flower, start out with a floral print top (like the one below by Stella McCartney) and pair with basic slacks or jeans for a more understated look.

Regardless of where you stand in the bloom-crazed spectrum, this Spring have a little fun and get ready to channel your inner flower child!
