The list of celebrities that also ‘design’ is becoming longer than the length of my arm. Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, Mandy Moore and Nicole Richie are just a few of the names on that list. But now it seems that not even sportsmen and women are safe…

Maria Sharapova, the Russian tennis pro, unveiled her first accessories line last week for mobile phone giant Sony Ericsson. Showcased via a catwalk show, The Maria Sharapova Design Collection includes four bags – Courtside Case, Exercise Case, Party Bag, and Travel Wallet. They’re quite cute, actually, and not bad for a first-time designer (although I suspect she had some help in the design department).

Speaking about the collaboration, Maria said,

‘People want style, fashion and glamour, and with this collection I know that they’ll have it’.
