Famed for her elaborately-rolled quiff hair do, Marks and Spencer model and soul singer VV Brown attended the Prince’s Trust Spring Ball last week sporting a plainer look than we’re used to seeing from the vintage style-setter.
Wearing an on-trend midi length dress that featured super-sweet lace sleeves and loose pleats, it all went wrong when we looked south of her knees.
By wearing her throw-back navy dress with stripy ankle socks and suede loafers she went from lovely to librarian – a solid attempt at the geek chic look, perhaps, but every fashionista should know not to mix a tricky length with dowdy footwear.
Worn with sky-high wedges we’d have been praising her sartorial bravery; bring back the old VV Brown – and the quiff – we say!
But what do you think of VV Brown’s look? Does she look lovely or just like a lost librarian?

Her hem would have to be shorter for a start, the dress would just have to be better fitting in general!
