It’s here! Kate’s dress is here! And it’s white-ivory! And beautiful! And it’s MCQUEEN!
Ok, we’ll calm down for a second, but seriously, doesn’t she look incredible? After all kinds of speculation (and all kinds of denials, might we add), Sarah Burton did get the commission of a lifetime to design our new princess’s dress, and as we expected, it’s all kinds of amazing.
Long sleeves, lace upper body with an elongated neckline, a fluid ivory & white silk gazar skirt and a modest 2.7 metre train, it’s definitely a Grace Kelly moment.
We’re waiting for better photos to trickle their way online, so we’ll be back with a more detailed analysis of the dress, her hair, and what this means for Kate’s fashion politics soon. Until then, marvel in the McQueen beauty.

I was surprised by her dress. It looked like it was off a sales rack. The veil and headpiece were absolutely hideous! She reminded me of a kid’s homemade ghost costume for Halloween. The veil was draped directly on her head like a furniture dust cloth. It’s unfortunate that no one saw fit to tell her she could have done much better. But then again, she accepted HRM Princess Diana’s ring (an incredibly tacky move by Wiliam) knowing that it certainly didn’t bring HRM Princess Diana any luck or happiness. The Queen’s headgear was a hoot too! It was shaped like the original drawing’s of the Mad Hatter’s from “Alice In Wonderland”. I do give the Royals credit for not wearing too leather though – with those horse faces someone might try to jump on their back and go for a ride!
