Nowness.com is the online offspring behind luxury group LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, showcasing exclusive daily premieres of the most inspiring stories influencing contemporary arts and global lifestyle, and the latest designer genius to take the website’s centre stage is none other than the late and great, Alexander McQueen.
The retrospective Savage Beauty exhibition currently debuting at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York city sees some of McQueen’s greatest work proudly on display, and to commemorate such iconic talent, the Nowness.com team have put together a piece of film profiling the labour of love between Alexander McQueen himself and milliner-extraordinaire, Philip Treacy.
The visually stunning film captures behind the scenes moments at the exhibition, as well as exclusive interviews with some of the many designers privileged enough to have worked with Alexander. Entitled Bird’s Nest Headdress, it will appear at the Costume Institute’s McQueen retrospective at the Metropolitan Museum of Art opening today.
