Solange Knowles does print-overload the right way in Twenty8Twelve

5th October 2012 1:16 pm

Solange Knowles is living proof that there is no such thing as OTT-dressing or print over-load, provided it’s done correctly.

The Madewell model stood out for all the right reasons at the New York screening of Everything or Nothing: The Untold Story of 007, putting her own signature on an edgy pink Twenty8Twelve matching hotpant suit.

As if the square-print polo-neck top underneath the suit wasn’t enough (Marc Jacobs would be so proud – do you think she took inspiration from the Louis Vuitton spring/summer 2013 collection?) Solange also added some print to her look by way of a Union Jack Charlotte Olympia Clutch and stripy Nicholas Kirkwood sandals. Way to big up the UK, Solange!

There’s no denying that her large and in charge afro and bold red lips could have proved too much and ruined the look, but we reckon it only adds to her trademark “out there” style which is why it’s a definite winner for us. What do you guys reckon?

About us

Welcome to My Fashion Life!

Launched in 2003 My Fashion Life is one of the UK’s leading top fashion blogs. Recognised for combining all the quality content you’d expect to find in an online magazine with the honest opinion and tone of a blog.

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
