During this summer’s busy event calendar, Pure stood strong as London’s leading trade fashion show this August with buyers from department stores attending and placing orders for spring/summer 2007 as well as top ups for autumn/winter 2006.

Independents visiting Pure included Subcouture, Pastiche, Psyche, Sunday Best, Mark Phillips, Graham and Greene, Shu Shu as well as the top department stores such as Harvey Nichols, John Lewis, Harrods, Selfridges, House of Fraser, Dunnes Stores, El Cortes Ingles and Bloomingdales.

Although industry reflects signs of tough trading in retail, Pure continued to attract quality retailers with many orders being made and Pure remained as busy as last August’s show. Pure displayed over 800 quality brands from young creative lines to the directional, appealing to top-end boutiques and progressive retailers who can be sure to find fresh ideas to buy into.

The Accessories level at Pure presented the largest-ever collection of accessories and footwear to date. Polly Lusher owner of Shu Shu enthused ‘fantastic show. I am looking for jewellery for Christmas and I am also buying into footwear for Spring. This time I am back to buying into Hultquist-Copenhagen as the customers just love it. Pure is an essential part of my buying calendar.’ Camilla Seddon from Graham and Greene said ‘we have found new suppliers at Pure and go for individual new things and ideas, from brands making an extra effort which is really refreshing……I always attend the show. The accessories are also good, definitely a place to discover and pick up new names which later expand into womenswear.’

Exhibitors were equally enthusiastic, such as Allen Strang from Chilli Pepper “we had the best ever first day at Pure on Sunday. We had a great morning, especially after other international trade shows having taken place, we found that the British buyers for us were here at Pure. The independents were out in force and there was a good quality of retailers here. Often at shows they look, but yesterday people wanted to sit down to see forward order and see flash collections to buy. This is our home market, Pure is very important to us. As a brand owner I never miss a show, and I never miss out on Pure.
