It seems the Pierre Hotel was the place to be in New York last night as Alber Elbaz invited some of his celebrity friends to celebrate the US launch of his highly-anticipated Lanvin for H&M collection – but this was a catwalk show with a difference.

Guests including Sofia Coppola, Andie MacDowell, Anna Sui and Alexander Wang sat front row as they watched the likes of Pixie Geldof, Dree Hemingway and icon-of-the-moment Anna Dello Russo take to the runway in specially-customised pieces from the collection to make the night one to remember.

“I think Alber Elbaz is great, I love what he does at Lanvin, it’s so girly and playful and confident,” says Sofia Coppola. “It’s so cool he’s working with H&M, it makes it so accessible to all kinds of young people to be able to afford it and wear it”.

Well, where else would you see Dello Russo in a pink one-shouldered dress with matching fishnet tights, red patent stilettos, black elbow-length leather gloves and a black bouffant net veil, complete with a pruned-to-perfection poodle?

Lanvin for H&M is set to launch next Tuesday, 23rd November, across Europe and the UK, but US fashionistas need to prepare in advance – it hits America tomorrow!
