Marking his 30 year career in the fashion industry, Michael Kors took centre stage in the Big Apple yesterday with his AW11 collection at New York Fashion Week.

With the likes of Anjelica Huston, Debra Messing, Emma Roberts, Rene Russo, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas all sitting front row for the event, and supermodels Erin Wasson, Karlie Kloss, Carmen Kass and Chanel Iman strutting down the catwalk, it was certainly a starry show indeed.

But onto the collection. With sharply tailored coats in olive green and camel hues, feminine draped dresses with silver embellishment, plenty of pillar box red fur coats and a furry handbag to match, the clothes were definitely forward in the trend department. A varied colour scheme with camel, grey, blush, nude, red, brown and black tones, the American designer’s autumn collection was full of Seventies-inspired decadence – and we, for one, think Michael Kors has truly outshone himself.
