With all the Brit Awards and London Fashion Week hype, Kate Middleton’s latest public outing almost slipped past us. We said almost….

The Duchess of Cambridge paid a visit to Rose Hill Primary School and Oxford Spires Academy yesterday on behalf of The Art Room – of which she is a patron – looking lovely in a brown Orla Kiely Birdie shirt dress.

The dress also comes in turquoise and grey, which we thought we would have personally chosen ourselves when we saw the three choices lined up, but the “Kate effect” is in full swing even in our brains and we are now swayed towards the brown one. Not that it matters of course, as all three have indeed sold out. That’s princess power for you.

It’s nice to see Kate out and about in something other than black heels or wedges too – we love her Aquatalia Rouge booties as they give her outfit a bit of a contemporary edge!
