It was announced earlier this month that to coincide with its 175th anniversary, Hermès would be holding an exhibition in London in May, but the details have been relatively vague. Until now!

The exhibition, entitled Leather Forever, will pay tribute to some of Hermès’ most iconic designs, with the classic Birkin and Kelly bags naturally taking pride of place. As no single Hermès piece would be possible without the fine craftsmanship and hard work of the artisans, they too will be at the exhibition to show visitors just how much goes into each bag with a real-time insight. Fascinating!

Additionally, visitors will be able to absorb the entire history of the brand, from famous silk scarves to saddles to all else inbetween.

Four one-of-a-kind bags, each one representing either England, Ireland, Scotland or Wales, will also be on display – and will then be auctioned off after the exhibition has closed to raise money for the Royal Academy of Arts.

Leather Forever will run between May 8th and May 27th at 6 Burlington Gardens – and best of all, entry is free! Will you be going?
