Self proclaimed Lady Gaga of fashion week, Anna Dello Russo makes it quite clear in her pop video Fashion Shower, that if somebody is wearing the same outfit as you, ‘wonderful, you did the right choice.’ But what if you end up sat across someone sporting the same designer as you, albeit in a different version?

Well, Bachelorette starlets Kirsten Dunst and Isla Fisher found themselves in this very sartorial situ, as they donned two different outfits by the same designer for the New York premiere of the film.

Both ladies opted for Stella McCartney, with Kirsten taking a kooky approach to red carpet dressing in matching shorts and boxy t-shirt, whilst Isla stuck to the vanilla side of red carpet style in a sequined, knee-length dress.

We do love a darer on the red carpet, and Kirsten’s short-tee duo from the Resort 2013 collection is a hardcore front-runner for Fash-off! champion this week. We love the dewy make up, power pout and glossy-but-mussed hair, and the mustard ankle strap Chloé heels round off the look rather nicely.

Although its not the first time we’ve come across this stylish concoction on the red carpet, it makes for a positive change and totally proves Kirsten’s point: Hey, bore offs, this outfit can look just as great as a dress, if not better.

On the other hand, Isla tended to our love for all things bedecked in sequins, and there’s no denying her embellished Stella McCartney dress is beautiful. But it’s also a classic (read: familiar) red carpet look, and a bit too vanilla for our liking.

Although beautifully accessorised with Stella McCartney sandals and a Fred Leighton clutch, the overall look is a little yawn-inducing. We love the side-swept hair, evening eyes and soft lip, but it’s just not living-on-the-edge-of-sartorial-glory enough for us!

The Fash-off champion: Hands off, Kirsten Dunst. That floral shor-tee-suit (yep, we just coined that one!) had us at (high fashion) hello.

Do you agree with our Fash-off verdict?
