Miu Miu

So this is the first of the Miu Miu ads with Lindsay Lohan and I can’t say that I’m too impressed. I know the picture isn’t that clear but first off the extreme photoshopping inflicted on this picture had my eyes practically glued to the screen to try and make out if it really was the party girl.

The fiery red hair works well with the rich colours, and her silhouette adds an element of dark glamour to the pictures, but while I can appreciate it artistically, this particular picture was for me, lifeless and evoked no emotion. Hopefully my opinion will change when the rest of the pictures are out but for now I’m not convinced Lohan was the best person for the job.

I think that was exactly the point. Miu Miu gets the buzz from featuring a publicity magnet like Lohan. Yet making her generic looking won’t alienate those who despise her and were prepared to ban Miu Miu from their closets forever.

True and my haven’t they created a buzz! I think it’s quite sad though when a respectable and credible fashion house has to sacrifice their art - because I do consider these ad campaigns to be artistic :-) - to succumb to the pressures of pr by using a lifeless Lohan for the purpose of publicity. Who next Britney Spears?
