Features: Gryson for Target

I heart Target. I’ve been loving the featured designers and their collections at Target the past year or so. My wardrobe now includes some cute dresses by Proenza Schouler, an adorable jacket and slacks by Alice Temperley and a couple of great T-shirts by Erin Featherston. The quality definitely isn’t the same as buying their designer duds full price, but if you’re a one season love ‘em and leave ‘em after type of girl like me, these affordable designer lines are an absolute godsend.

My heart skipped a beat when my friend recently told me that Joy Gryson, once a director of design for Marc Jacobs, would be coming out with an accessories line for Target featuring, yes…handbags and possibly shoes! Now that she has her own successful label and designs that have been sported around town by celebs and plastered in magazines, Gryson is definitely an addition to the Target collaboration list that will set off another big shopping frenzy. The collection is going to be previewed next week in NYC and available in stores in 2008. You can guess where this eagle-eyed thrifty shopper is going to be when those bags first hit the floor!

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
