Celebrity Labels: Katie Holmes for Armani
Since Katie Holmes became firm friends with Victoria Beckham there’s been much speculation as to whether she would follow in her footsteps and make attempts to enter the fashion industry. Well, it appears that the actress couldn’t resist.
According to O.K magazine, Katie will be designing her own clothing line for Armani. The collection will be called “Katie Holmes for Armani” and is the first time a high fashion house has teamed up with a “non-professional designer”.
Armani designed Katie’s wedding dress and has been responsible for many of her red carpet outfits, so it may come to no surprise that both parties have decided to work together.
Katie Holmes for Armani, will launch with a collection for toddlers due to be released in Spring 2009, a collection for older children in Autumn 2009, followed by a handbag line and womenswear collection in 2010.
Stockists will include, Saks, Barneys, and Neiman Marcus and prices will be similar to the Armani ready-to-wear line.

Fortunately, the news wasn’t accurate. Or at least that’s what Armani and Kate’s spokespersons are leading us into believing. I guess time will prove us if this was it.
