Jeweler Extraordinaire: Helen Ficalora

helenficalora_280508.jpg I often find myself overlooking jewelry as a shopping choice. I look at it, quite a bit, but when it comes to actually purchasing something, the instances are few and far between. Most of the jewelry I own I have received as a gift (although there are a few exceptions where I have treated myself!). I think that this may change since I discovered Helen Ficalora.

I happened to be wandering around SoHo (the Manhattan one) last week and saw an interesting little boutique and decided to wander in. Although by no means inexpensive, her pieces are quite reasonably priced and understated. My favourite is the “Star Charm, which is a simple gold disc with a cutout star in the center.

Letters of the alphabet are available too, in addition to a collection of pieces of which a portion of the proceeds are donated to charity.

Ficalora also offers a selection of lovely earrings (my fave are the cherry blossoms) . Her rings are beautiful as well, but most have higher price points. She has several locations across the US, but all pieces are available to order online!

Welcome to My Fashion Life!

Launched in 2003 My Fashion Life is one of the UK’s leading top fashion blogs. Recognised for combining all the quality content you’d expect to find in an online magazine with the honest opinion and tone of a blog.

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
