Lunchtime buy: 3.1 Phillip Lim denim drawstring shorts

2nd August 2010 12:00 pm

Now that we’ve hit August we’re well and truly lusting after the last rays of the sunshine, but don’t let the autumn drop in shop floors get you down – there’s still time to sport your summer staples yet.

We love 3.1 Phillip Lim’s modern interpretation of the classic denim short, and with their loose cut and a relaxed drawstring waist, this stonewashed pair have been given a touch of luxe sportswear to bring them up to date.

Ideal for seeing out the last days of summer and those off-the-cuff holidays, wear them with a simple vest and a pair of chunky wedges, and add a camel-coloured jacket for the evenings – or, if you’re a sucker for a trend, try tucking in a light-wash denim shirt.

£150 from Net-a-Porter.

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
