Love or Hate: Cacharel tinted lens sunglasses

11th April 2011 1:00 am

There’s definitely been a change in season over the past couple of weeks and, when the weather gets brighter, everyone’s attention turns to sunglasses.

Probably my favourite summer accessory, the humble pair of shades can instantly change a look and gives a sense of swagger to even shyest amongt us.

Every season sparks a new fascination in style; gold aviators, Victoria Beckham-style mega shades and lest we forget the year of the ubiquitous Ray Ban Wayfarer. But this year, I say banish all thoughts of tracking down the must-have pair because, my friend, this is the year of the funglasses.

These Cacharel tinted sunglasses in bright pink are the most carefree and fashionable way to stay in the shade this summer. Their rounded shape and quirky colour give them a sense of retro-cool that no bug-eyed pair could ever achieve.

They remind me of shades that Katy Perry would wear or, one of my personal cult fashion icons, Alabama Worley from the True Romance.

Pair with a cute floral playsuit or high-waisted shorts and blouse for a killer nostalgic look. Add a slick of bright red lippie and you’ve just earned yourself a one-way ticket to retro-ville.
