Yesterday, when the provisional London Fashion Week schedule rolled in from the BFC, we noticed one knew name who hadn’t been there before – yes, it was Tom Ford, and yes, he is showing at LFW this September!
We’re particularly excited about this for two reasons: firstly, this means there’s an actual chance of bumping into Tom Ford and his perfectly handsome beard on the British cobbles; and secondly, do we need to remind you that last season he enlisted the likes of Beyonce, Daphne Guinness and Julia Restoin-Roitfeld to walk in his show?
Just imagine who he’ll scoop this time! Julianne Moore? Lady Gaga? The apprehension is beyond bearable.
Actually, we’d like to be the first to say this – since he pinched Lara Stone from Calvin Klein for his new beauty line, we expect the Dutch model to make an appearance.
But aside from being generally great news for us, it’s a huge coup for London, too – Tom Ford presented his debut womenswear collection to select press in secret last September, and only revealed his latest collection during private appointments at his London showroom, so a spot on London’s schedule cements the city’s status as one of the serious Fashion Week stars among the calendar.
Here’s to September (Sunday 18th, to be exact)!
