Accessory Adventures: Astley Clarke Oceana Ring

21st July 2011 10:42 am

Once upon a time fast fashion was confided to ready to wear rails, but with more and more of our favourite fashion designers launching accessory lines, our jewellery is becoming as disposable as our seasonable wardrobes. If trend inspired jewellery leaves you cold, this timeless oceana ring by Astley Clarke’s colour collection is the perfect antidote.

Though classic, the simplistic design can’t help but verge on the predictable. The vivid green chrysoprase and turquoise stones are incredibly beautiful yet their shimmering ocean inspired colours seem staid in their precise and polished rose cut, making them look a little austere against their rigid and yellow gold setting.

The ring comes as two separate rings, one adorned with each stone and they can be intertwined or separated according to your mood.

Overall verdict? It has a kind of timeless appeal that makes it a gorgeous piece that promises to endure long after the passing trends have been forgotten.

Don’t try to wear this ring as a fashion accessory, instead love it for what it is; an elegant and traditional piece. Wear it to complement a simple classic outfit or add a touch of femininity to an otherwise formal business or office look.

About us

Welcome to My Fashion Life!

Launched in 2003 My Fashion Life is one of the UK’s leading top fashion blogs. Recognised for combining all the quality content you’d expect to find in an online magazine with the honest opinion and tone of a blog.

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
