RTW Wanderer: Burberry Prorsum cropped wool jacket

13th September 2011 1:00 am

If you hadn’t noticed already, it’s time to start making the transition towards the autumn wardrobe you’ve been putting all your time into developing. And that means getting boxy with this season’s newest jacket: the cropped coat. Burberry Prorsum’s cropped wool jacket in zesty tangerine is, therefore, right on the fashion money.

With its stand-up collar, cropped sleeves and button front closure, this is a friend that will see you through from autumn to winter in the most fabulous style.

For those colder days, it’ll work just as perfectly as it does for the milder ones – just tempt yourselves into practising your layering skills. Look to this season’s cigarette pants and brogues to channel that androgynous feel, and you’ll be good to go.

So far, it’s all dandy. Except when you’re wandering eyes hit the price tag: at £1,095, this is definitely a little out of my price range (okay, a lot out of my price range). And even though it’s Burberry Prorsum and will (possibly) last you a lifetime, I’d suggest hunting the high street for a replica.

Burberry Prorsum’s Cropped Wool Jacket, £1,095, available at MyTheresa.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
