Kate Middleton wears Hobbs and Oasis in Liverpool

15th February 2012 9:13 am

As the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton couldn’t spend Valentine’s Day with her hubby Prince William yesterday (he’s still in The Falklands for RAF duties), she decided to go out to Liverpool and put tons of smiles on lots of people’s faces instead.

Kate looked chic and cosy in a long coat from high street label Hobbs, with a black Oasis polo neck jumper dress underneath. She accessorised with black tights, black heels and some very bedazzling Kiki McDonough earrings (the same ones she wore on Christmas Day!) that definitely broke up the black and added some sparkle to her outfit once she’d slipped her coat off.

WhatKateWore reports that the Duchess purchased the chestnut ‘Celeste’ coat in September last year for £369… it has since been reduced to just £182, although it has predictably now sold out. We’re loving the harness detail, which is definitely a trend we see emerging for the coming autumn/winter 2012 season.

Having done such a perfect job during her first official public engagement at the National Portrait Gallery last week, we imagine Kate felt much more comfortable and at ease the second time around!

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
