Lady Gaga lands the American Vogue September cover!

Congratulations to Lady Gaga this morning, as it’s just been announced that Anna Wintour has snapped her up to front the all-important September issue of American Vogue.

We loved having a Brit on last year’s cover (it was a newly married Kate Moss, remember?) but there’s no denying that Lady Gaga’s offering is going to be something pretty remarkable.

WWD reports that legendary photography duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott have already shot the pictures. Oooh, the teases!

This will be the second time Lady Gaga will have fronted the US version of the fashion Bible. Mother Monster’s debut Vogue cover last March turned out to be the second bigger seller of the year – can the fact that Gaga is fronting the most important issue help her sophomore outing secure the top spot?

Only time will tell!
