  • New York Fashion Week: William Rast AW09
Last night, William Rast not only brought in the celebrities (naturally Jessica Biel was there to support her man, she is stunning!) but also pulled in fashions heavyweights – Anna Wintour (she is tiny!) and Carine Roitfeld (she is amazing!). It was obvious not just from Wintour and Roitfeld’s presence but also from the collection that Justin Timberlake, his...

  • Victoria Beckham unveils her latest collection for AW09
Shoot me now. I’m actually considering buying a dress or two from Victoria Beckham’s AW09 collection. Thumbs up to the Posh one. I personally think in these economic times her collection might actually thrive, and I’m saying this despite the fact that Victoria’s collection goes against everything Anna Wintour

  • New York Fashion Week: Lela Rose AW09
With not a trouser in sight, Lela Rose was an orgasmic explosion of colour and romance. The collection began with tweed skirts paired with ribbed cashmere sleeved tops and finished with sleeveless cropped jackets cinched at the waist. Now, I’m not a fan of tweed at the best of times but I must admit the overall look was gorgeous and well styled. This was followed...

  • New York Fashion Week: BCBGMAXAZRIA AW09
2009 marks the 20th anniversary of BCBGMAXAZRIA and I was really looking forward to the show. Sadly, I was disappointed. For me, knowing what your client wants is the most important ingredient in a collection. Right now, the BCBG woman most likely has a desire to feel sexy and powerful and she needs functional clothing. BCBGMAXAZRIA, did well with the latter – we were...

  • New York Fashion Week: Charlotte Ronson AW09
Of course, it was a family affair at Charlotte Ronson. Mum, brother and sister turned up to show their support with Lindsay Lohan in tow who posed for the paps in the DJ booth with Sam. On a side note someone needs to feed Lohan a burger or two.

  • Giorgio Armani slates Rome Fashion Week
Armani is not a fashion designer to fade into the background nor has he ever hidden behind his models and designs. Only a couple of weeks ago he was accusing D&G of plagiarism and now he has made comments that have rippled throughout the fashion world.

  • The UK high street faces the crunch
The vile credit crunch has been attacking retailers and work places across the globe. With the cut backs at the Fashion Weeks, it was only a matter of time until our favourite stores started to feel the pinch. The Icelandic investment group Baugur yesterday filed for bankruptcy throwing the future of our high street into turmoil. The demise of a company who holds stakes...

  • Milan and Paris: The cream of the crop
I’m suffering from a bout of fashion week withdrawal, so I spent most of last weekend sifting through footage and images from the shows, namely Paris and Milan. Looking back, this show season has actually been a blast..fast and fun and packed with lots of action.

  • Antoni & Alison: Cleverly kooky or catastrophically kitsch?
Every year the Antoni & Alison slot is always filled with something that little bit different. Last year, lucky show-goers were invited to watch Nicole Kidman present the new collection on screen. This season, the show was once again a form of light relief.

  • Paris Fashion Week: Viktor and Rolf Go Virtual
There is the possibility that fashion week may cease to exist. Instead show season could be nothing more than a series of catwalk presentations streamed via the internet and the fashion pack may find themselves swapping a week of parties, shows and dressing up for their sofa, pyjamas, a laptop and (coffee) champagne.
