new_york_look.jpgAn entire magazine covering the ins and outs of Fashion Week? Sign me up! When I got my hands on the new semi-annual New York Look magazine, I didn’t really know what I’d find on the glossy pages. After the first fifty page turns of back-to-back advertisements, I was almost ready to toss the mag into the recycling bin…but then I hit page 60 and my eyes lit up like a kid in a candy store. A giant Twister board-esque photo popped up and I discovered I was looking at Dior’s seating chart from his October show in Paris. How cool is that?!

Then I turned the page and found a stacked list of all of the NY shows and details on how late the designers started (ahem, Marc Jacobs), which celebrities were in attendance, and even which tunes and DJ’s rocked the house as models took to the catwalks.

As a girl who’s always dreamed of, but has never been to Fashion Week (yet!), this magazine was the perfect fix. I loved seeing which celebrity and fashion elite derrieres graced the front row of the Marc Jacobs show; I drooled over the portfolio of stunning behind-the-scenes photographs taken by Paolo Pellegrin; and I studied the surprising upcoming trends for Spring ’08 , including short shorts, picnic table florals, gladiator style sandals, bright primary colors, the return of big shoulders (eek!), the list goes on…

If that wasn’t worth the $5.99 cover price already, the article on Anna Wintour and her new boy-toy Roger Federer by the Fug Girls, certainly sealed the deal. Get your copy on newstands until March ’08 or check out the NY Look website.
