blair-red-bow-headband

Previously spotted on the shiny heads of schoolgirls only, the faithful covered headband has made a fully-fledged comeback. Thanks in part to Blair Waldorf and co. the fashion world has embraced Queen B’s signature accessory with vigour, interpreting it in a variety of ways.

Blair’s own go-to for hair accessories is Jennifer Behr.  Accesoriser to Maggie Gyllenhaal and Natalie Portman, Behr’s work has been featured in NYLON, Teen Vogue, and In Style, and on countless episodes of Gossip Girl.  Behr recently collaborated with Diane Von Furstenberg, supplying head pieces for her Runway Resort 2009 show.  With a nod to art deco, Behr’s creations are classic, simple, and utterly wearable.

Sure to be a contender for Blair’s bow-shaped affections are Luella’s sweet as candy ribbon hairbands.  Pretty with a definite equestrian feel, these beauties are set to be a fashionista favourite.  Available to buy at Luella and Harvey Nichols.

For something a little more edgy, look no further than Aussie designer Michelle Jank’s line of fabulous hair wear.  Her tiaras are less makeshift crown and more statement hairpiece.

Of course, you could always make your own.  Simple ribbon and lace concoctions are my favourite!

Until next time, xoxo.
