Mark Fast SS10
When Mark Fast sent plus-size models down his spring catwalk in September, fashion fans had a field day. Well, the plus-size debate is always going to get trendy tongues wagging. Cue V magazine’s next move: dedicating a whole issue to larger models.

“Big, little, pint-size, plus-size , everybody is beautiful. And this issue is out to prove it, says Stephan Gan, editor of V magazine, whose previous issues have seen the likes of Alexa Chung, Miranda Kerr and Dree Hemingway grace its glossy spreads.

Models including Crystal Renn, Kate Dillon, Mia Tyler, Whitney Thompson and Hayley Morley (who lead Fast’s S/S10 show) will appear on the preened pages clad in designer clothes (when not baring all) shot by fashion photographers Terry Richardson, Bruce Weber and Karl Lagerfeld. Er, is someone backtracking on that ‘fat mummy’ comment, Karl?

The special plus-size issue will be the first V magazine of 2010 to hit new stands in January, NY Mag reveals.

Interesting move, this one. Is it a step towards fashion editorials becoming more inclusive, or a ploy to get people talking?
