The inside editorial shoot may be a totally different story, but on the cover of British Vogue‘s November issue, Rihanna is every inch the classy lady.

Aside from her Armani ad campaigns where she was pictured with a fierce blonde crop, this is one of the first professional photoshoots of the Bajan bombshell without her flame red hair – in fact, there’s something a little Marilyn Monroe about this waved blonde bob.

And if you’re used to seeing Rihanna in next to nothing, you might just be pleasantly surprised by what a little covering up can do.

Wearing an Armani Prive couture dress on the cover, she certainly looks a far cry from the sexed-up superstar we’ve become accustomed to, channelling instead a sophisticated Fifties pin-up look that we dare say suits her splendidly.

“That’s not me. That’s a part I play,” Rihanna told Vogue about her overtly sexy image. “You know, like it’s a piece of art… I just want to make music.”

You’ll find plenty of that ‘part’ played out inside the spread. Get your copy of Vogue‘s November issue from October 6th.
