To think that in just less than 2 weeks we’ll be in March, is just mind-boggling. It literally feels as if it was Jan 1st just yesterday. Between the drama of Brexit and the overall chaos in British politics in general, there’s just been way too much going on to even consider the rate at which time is flying by. It’s safe to say, before we know it, we’ll be knee-deep in summer, parading around in t-shirts and shorts preferably on the beach, and ideally with a Brexit deal in place. In the meantime we have other important matters to think about such as our spring wardrobe. Yep, for the best in escapism you can’t beat planning your wardrobe for the season ahead. So, here we highlight our top essentials for spring.
A versatile staple, the feminine silk shirt is the perfect am to pm piece. Style effortlessly for working days with tailored trousers or with jeans and flats at the weekend. Silk Shirt, £120 available at Jigsaw
Any excuse to buy a new bag always works for us. We’re loving this spacious leather tote and while we’ve played it safe with navy, make a statement with the red or yellow version. Bridget Leather Tote, £159 available at Jigsaw
Considering there’s still a chill in the air during early spring, we recommend opting for this Breton light knit to stay cost. What’s so special about this sweater however, is its subtle lace detail at the back. Breton Lace Back Sweater, £98 available at Jigsaw
You can never have too many pairs of jeans. This season we’re still loving high-waist denim (will we ever stop? we’re not sure…) especially these barrel leg jeans. Go retro with a slogan tee, trainers and a cross-body bag for a great off-duty look. Mid Wash High Waist Barrel Leg, £95 available at Whistles
Oh, we do love the fact that when spring truly arrives, we have the opportunity to give our feet some much-needed air after a season of heavy duty boots and trainers. These backless pointed toe flats are perfect for the job. Pointed Toe Leather Shoes, £49.99 available at Mango
Naturally we had to include something floral in our round-up and this midi dress was too pretty not to feature. A trophy piece, it’s ideal for any upcoming weddings or special social occasions. If there’s still a chill in the air, just team with sheer women’s hosiery You really can’t go wrong with the colour and cut of this gorgeous number. Katherine Midi Dress, £140 available at Boden
A cute cardigan is a must. We love the delicate addition of colourful stripes which aren’t too overpowering but instead allow the cardi enough versatility to be teamed with any number of outfits, from a cami top and jeans to a midi-dress or skirt. Effie Cardigan, £75 available at Boden
While the trench or biker jacket is often the number one choice for spring, we also advocate embracing the double-breasted coat. Camel and navy tend to work well and for us it’s all about this navy coat courtesy of Mango. Double Breasted Coat, £69.99 available at Mango
Another great choice for outerwear is the blazer. A timeless essential, our choice for this season is this houndstooth print, guaranteed to take you from spring, to cooler summer days and right up to autumn. Houndstooth Check Blazer, £265 available at Reiss
A hot shade for the warmer months, expect to see a lot of pink. For us, the perfect way to wear this spring hue is on your feet in the form of these vibrant mules. Regina Cross Mules, £42 available at Topshop
