Jimmy Choo turns 15

It seems many happy returns are in order – Jimmy Choo is turning 15 this year, and to celebrate, the luxury label is giving itself a classic 15th birthday gift: crystal (to be immortalised in shoes, naturally).

The British brand is set to create a Crystal Anniversary capsule collection of shoes, where it’ll rework some of its signature embellished and jewel-encrusted shoes using crystal – and to seal the deal, its enlisting legendary photographer Marilyn Minter to shoot the campaign.

“In celebrating our 15 years, I wanted to create a modern glamour that stands for the style and imagination of Jimmy Choo,” Tamara Mellon tells Vogue UK. “I was inspired by vintage jewellery to add sparkling and luminous details to iconic Jimmy Choo shapes. I have long been a collector and a fan of Marilyn’s work and know that she can capture the essence of my vision.”

No word on the launch date yet, but you can bet your bottom dollar these crystal clad shoes will be some of the most coveted to date.
