Chanel’s Cruise show is one of our favourite events in the fashion calendar. We don’t get to go, of course (hey Karl, sort it out), but it gives us a chance to oggle what everyone wore, do a little wishing that we were them and thank God that summer is finally here.
Last night’s show at Cap d’Antibes in France saw enough stars to rival a Cannes premiere (the Film Festival kicks off tomorrow, FYI), and with the exception of Diane Kruger, all of Karl’s favourites were there.
Blake rocked up on the dove grey carpet in a sequinned midnight blue blazer and the shortest black mini skirt she could find, Alexa wore a powder pink ruffled midi skirt, Clemence Posey opted for a yellow feather-skirted bouclé dress, and Rachel Bilson looked sweet ‘n’ sleek in leather shorts and a blazer.
As for the collection?
“This is about the women of Cannes, women who mix bathing suits with real pearls and diamonds,” said Lagerfeld. “After all, you can’t wear fakes into the water.”
