Steep vs Cheap: Cat eye sunglasses

16th May 2011 2:00 pm

This season, Prada made for fruity fashion playtime with monkey business on skirts and Fifties-inspired, cat eye swirly sunglasses. Dior did much the same, teaming cat eye frames with Lolita fringes and eclectic prints. And with the summer sun playing peek-a-boo from behind the frequently grey sky, we’re trooping on in search of our favourite feline accessories.

Tom Fords’ Fifties-inspired Nikita sunglasses perfectly nod to old school Audrey Hepburn charm. We love the bold black colour – ever versatile for a range of  looks – and the cat eye frame provides a playful retro alternative to the more commonly chosen oversized shapes and RayBan Wayfarers.

But priced at £239, they’re one pair of frames you’ll to be too afraid to wear.

Enter ASOS‘s cat eyes sunglasses. The modestly priced yet equally fashionable version definitely makes for a pretty sight.

Adding retro glamour to a day or evening look, and stylishly protecting your peepers from harmful sun rays, there’s no chance of forgetting these beauties on the beach.

About us

Welcome to My Fashion Life!

Launched in 2003 My Fashion Life is one of the UK’s leading top fashion blogs. Recognised for combining all the quality content you’d expect to find in an online magazine with the honest opinion and tone of a blog.

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
