We know it’s pretty sickening to read how many millions celebrities have rolling in each year, but we think you should make an exception when it comes to the magnificent Miuccia Prada.

After declaring her earnings as £8.6 million for last year, the designer has taken her place as one of the highest paid people in fashion. The full disclosure of income was subsequently required from the Prada empire as they look set to float on the stock exchange.

Prada’s chief executive Patrizio Bertelli, who is also Miuccia’s husband, earned more than his wife last year with a whopping £8.9 million annual salary – talk about a wealthy couple, eh?

Some of the fashion industry’s biggest names earned salaries which seem pretty small in comparison, when you look at them – with the likes of LVMH chairman Bernard Arnault earning around £3.5 million, in 2010; and PPR chief Francois-Henri Pinault, who earned £2.5 million.

The document also revealed for the first time that Prada and Bertelli each control 33.2 per cent of the group – and that both have five-year consultancy agreements with the company rather than permanent positions, reports Vogue UK.

Prada is expected to sell 16.5 per cent of its share capital in an IPO at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange later this month. The group, which also encompasses Miu Miu and Tods, is thought to be valued at around £9.5 million.

Oh, the bank balance of a designer.
