Kate Middleton’s affection for Alexander McQueen didn’t just stop at her wedding day – she wore another piece from the great British label for the Queen’s birthday at the weekend.

The Duchess wore a cream double-breasted dress coat from McQueen’s resort 2011 collection for her Trooping the Colour debut on Saturday – the posh term for when the British monarchy turns another year older – and looked every inch the perfect Princess.

We love the way the origami-like folds create some much-needed curves (yep, we said it), and it’s the perfect example of classic elegance meeting contemporary craftsmanship that suits Middleton so well.

Undeniably chic and finished with a sleek black hat by Vivien Sheriff, we’d be happy if this was the only kind of Kate we saw from now on (the kind that stays true to her signature but experiments with more fashion-forward cuts).

What say you?
