The Olsens to become creative directors at Superga

13th September 2011 12:07 pm

Once heralded as the original plimsoll for those in the know, cult Italian brand Superga has upped its fashion game this year – and with the arrival of two new creative directors, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, the brand’s set to take the fashion world by storm.

Following Alexa Chung’s appointment as brand ambassador last season, Superga‘s continuing its Centenary celebrations with two new fashion faces at the helm – and let’s just say if you’re not familiar with the label yet, you certainly will be soon.

The Olsen twins have been tapped by Steve Madden, who owns the U.S. rights to Superga and, incidentally, is a collaborator on Elizabeth and James‘s footwear line, to become the new creative directors of the brand.

They’ll start their collaboration with a capsule collection of The Row for Superga shoes, reports Elle UK, as well as marking each mainline design with an Olsen stamp.

Do we expect stylish sneakers? Sleek pumps? A Superga heel? We can’t wait to see what the pair come up with.
