Vera Wang showcases her witchcraft-inspired wedding dresses in New York

18th October 2011 11:20 am

Vera Wang is without a doubt of the most sought after wedding dress designers in the world; her designs are always flawless and you can always recognise one from a million miles away. But, would you still be able to identify a true Vera Wang design if the dress was, say, jet black?

Vera Wang has indeed created a line of dark coloured wedding gowns which she paraded down the New York runway for Bridal Fashion Week. Apparently the theme for the collection was ‘witchcraft’ which was very apparent with the models’ styling and the prominent black theme in the designs. All seven of Vera’s gowns still carried all the classic Vera signatures though, including impeccable craftsmanship and exquisite attention to detail in both the form fitted bodices and the fairy-tale inspired skirts.

Kim Kardashian famously wore three custom-made Vera Wang gowns when she married Kris Humphries in August; do you think she would have chosen any of these for her fairytale wedding? Would you?

Even if you personally wouldn’t wear one down the aisle, no one can argue with the fact that each and every one of these dresses is jaw-droppingly stunning. We imagine a few celebs will be begging to be draped in one of these numbers for awards season at the start of next year; if these don’t scream ‘Oscars’, then we don’t know what does!
