Katy Perry channels The Little Mermaid for ghd’s new ad campaign

6th February 2012 10:27 am

If the snow has got you down this Monday morning, Katy Perry’s brand new ad campaign for ghd is sure to brighten up your day as top photographer David Lachapelle has once again turned to Disney for inspiration.

As much as we loved the Snow White interpretation for the Scarlet Collection stylers, we think his Little Mermaid vision just about tops it.

“I love it because I’m such a fan of the Disney movies,” ghd Ambassador Katy said. “Ariel is such a big influence. It’s always fun to dress up once in your lifetime as a mermaid and have that fish fin tail.

“It was fun – I got to have purple hair which foreshadowed the real purple hair I had last fall. It’s as if Lisa Frank had done The Little Mermaid.”

We’re extra-thrilled with this advert, as it’s promoting the brand new ghd Air – the first ever professional hairdryer to be released by the brand. It will only set you back £99, and if it’s even half as good as the heated stylers that us girls literally can’t live without, is well worth investing in!

Welcome to My Fashion Life!

Launched in 2003 My Fashion Life is one of the UK’s leading top fashion blogs. Recognised for combining all the quality content you’d expect to find in an online magazine with the honest opinion and tone of a blog.

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
