Peek Rodarte’s debut shoeline here

28th June 2012 9:38 am

We were mega excited when we heard that Rodarte designers Laura and Kate Mulleavy would be making a foray into footwear, and now it’s finally time to take a peek at what they’ve been working on all these months.

“For us, every season starts with a shoe idea,” the girls said. “Fall allowed us to use a concept we had saved for the right moment. We created heels made of molded resin filled with layers of colored sand. We wanted to reference the amazing layers of earth in the landscape.”

Akin to the mainline Rodarte collection, the shoe line was also inspired by the Australian landscape, with the heels even being constructed out of molded resin filled with coloured sand. Like, ACTUAL sand! Pretty cool, huh?

Do you like what you see so far? Which celeb can you see rocking this shoe first? Our money’s on one of the Fanning sisters!

About us

Welcome to My Fashion Life!

Launched in 2003 My Fashion Life is one of the UK’s leading top fashion blogs. Recognised for combining all the quality content you’d expect to find in an online magazine with the honest opinion and tone of a blog.

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
