Maison Martin Margiela and Alexis Mabille officially gain Haute Couture status

19th December 2012 12:48 pm

Looks like Zac Posen isn’t the only designer who’s going to be celebrating extra hard this Christmas.

Maison Martin Margiela and Alexis Mabille have officially gained Couture status, as they have both been awarded the Haute Couture appellation by the Chambre Syndicale. Huge congratulations to the two very hard-working and worthy designers.

They now join the likes of Christian Dior, Chanel, Giambattista Valli and newcomers Dolce and Gabbana, among others.

Alexis Mabille’s show is set for day 1 of the Couture schedule on January 21st, while Margiela’s will take place two fays later on the 23rd. We can’t wait to see what they come out with – we expect great things!

About us

Welcome to My Fashion Life!

Launched in 2003 My Fashion Life is one of the UK’s leading top fashion blogs. Recognised for combining all the quality content you’d expect to find in an online magazine with the honest opinion and tone of a blog.

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
