The idea of a lip balm which is also a gloss has always baffled me.  I have never believed a single product could be capable of offering conditioning benefits whilst masquerading as a gloss.

Lip gloss still reminds me of high school and my first experiments with make-up (Spectacular lilac eyeshadow and Natural Collection clear lip gloss over frosted 17 lipstick, in case you’re wondering).  It may not be surprising then to learn that I rarely use the stuff now.  Perhaps it’s living in a windy city – hair stuck to your lips is not a good look in my book.  However, I think the real reason I gave gloss the heave-ho was because it dried out my lips.

Years later, I am delighted to discover a product which offers a pretty, subtle wash of colour and relief from dry, chapped lips.  Miraculous!

Available in 8 fruity colours, you can find Clinique’s Superbalm Moisturising Gloss at their website for £9.79.
