Kate Middleton and her grandmother-in-law the Queen boarded a train (not the Louis Vuitton one, mind) for Leicester’s De Montfort University yesterday morning, as part of her majesty’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

The Queen looked totally on trend in her bright pink and black Angela Kelly coat, while Kate toned it down in a dark teal LK Bennett Jude peplum jacket and Davina dress, which she accessorised with a fab James Lock hat, black Episode shoes and a gorgeous 40s inspired waist cinching belt.

And as we reported last week, Kate and the Queen attended a fashion show held by the university’s fashion students, while the Duchess of Cambridge also had the additional task of choosing a winning shoe design (from a shortlist of six) that will eventually be made for her to wear.

The Duchess chose a 19thcentury inspired royal blue shoe, created by Becka Hunt. You can see Becka posing proudly with her winning creation below. What do you think?
