Looks like the pop star who wears elaborate stage costumes is seeking sartorial inspiration from another musician known for his weird and wonderful wardrobe, as Lady Gaga bought no fewer than 55 pieces previously owned by Michael Jackson at Julien’s Auctions at the weekend.

It’s not known which pieces Lady G is now the proud owner of, or how much she spent on the pieces, but it’s being reported that the sale raised $5 million in total!

What is she going to do with them, you ask? We thought an MJ tribute concert would be imminent, but the singer Tweeted her plans for the pieces and it doesn’t look like she’s going to chop and change and generally Gaga-fy them, so Michael Jackson fans can rest easy…

“The 55 pieces I collected today will be archived & expertly cared for in the spirit & love of Michael Jackson, his bravery, & fans worldwide,” she wrote on Twitter.

We definitely think she’s got the MJ bug though, and have a feeling we’re going to see some more Michael Jackson influences in her music as well as her future wardrobe.
