Galliano takes Dior to Egypt

20th January 2004 8:48 am

John Galliano‘s collection for Dior was inspired by Ancient Egypt and it looks like it was absolutely amazing.

The Dior show opened with the magnificent arched-back profile of Erin Orsquo Connor looking statuesque in a tightly fitted, long golden suit and Nefertiti head-dress. From the land of the pharaohs came one gold dress after another emblazoned with great furbelows of fabric and fabulous head-dresses or masks of the Egyptian gods. Galliano very sensibly stuck to simple lean silhouettes for this all-evening-wear collection (much more commercial) and then added great swooshes of organdie to exaggerate a hem, a cuff or a collar.

About us

Welcome to My Fashion Life!

Launched in 2003 My Fashion Life is one of the UK’s leading top fashion blogs. Recognised for combining all the quality content you’d expect to find in an online magazine with the honest opinion and tone of a blog.

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!

Editor’s Pick
