Madonna wows the Superbowl crowd in Givenchy Haute Couture (watch her entire performance here!)
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past 24 hours, you’ll probably be aware that the world is going crazy for Madonna’s truly spectacular halftime performance at the NFL Superbowl, but can you blame it?
In a nutshell, Madonna’s performance – with appearances from Nicki Minaj and MIA – was outstanding on so many levels. Although Her Madgesty performed a highly energetic routine to brand new single Gimme All Your Luvin as well as some old Madonna classics, the thing that grabbed our attention the most was of course her stage wardrobe, most of which came courtesy of Givenchy.
The queen of pop was kitted out in some truly fabulous Haute Couture Givenchy gear, essentially looking like a modern day Cleopatra… with just a little bit more bling and extravagance, if that’s possible.
“Following my collaboration with Madonna on her last tour three years ago, it is a great honour for me to be a part of yet another historical and iconic moment,” Riccardo Tisci said. “People say everything has a limit, but limits do not exist with Madonna. I am so happy that, after being busy in other scenes, she decided to go back on a music stage. Not only to bring us music, but also to make such a statement of performance and fashion.”
This performance will undoubtedly go down in history and in a way, we kind of pity the act that has to follow next year… who do you think will be up to the challenge?
