Kate Middleton recycles Alexander McQueen dress for Buckingham Palace Garden Party

We don’t care how many times we see Kate Middleton in this Alexander McQueen dress; we don’t think we will ever tire of it! You can never have too much of a good thing, right? The Duchess of Cambridge attended the Buckingham Palace Garden Party yesterday afternoon (what perfect weather they had, too!), and opted to wear a stunning cream Alexander McQueen knee-length dress for the occasion. The dress – which was custom made for her by Sarah Burton – was previously worn during one of the Queen’s many Diamond Jubilee celebrations at St. Paul’s Cathedral back in 2012. This time round, accessorised with a Jane Corbett hat, a Russell and Bromley clutch bag, and L.K. Bennett pumps, all of which were in the same matching cream hue as her dress. We can’t fault her Princess-perfect style; another flawless look from the Duchess!

Kate Middleton recycles red Alexander McQueen for Dramatic Arts reception

It’s a good day for Alexander McQueen! The label is doing the right thing by vowing to pay all of its interns from now on, and it’s just got even more publicity thanks to one of it’s most famous fans, the Duchess of Cambridge! Although nothing will come close to the Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen dress that Kate Middleton wore for her wedding back in 2011, we think this red hot number might be one of our close second favourites. Bold, red, and totally figure-flattering- what’s not to love about it? Kate Middleton stepped out in this red number back in 2012 at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee River pageant, but her look at the Dramatic Arts reception at Buckingham Palace last night was just as breathtaking. It doesn’t matter how many times Kate steps out in the same outfit as she always finds new ways to dazzle us. Princess power at its finest!

Kate Middleton recycles green Emilia Wickstead for Saint Patrick’s Day celebrations

Is that the teeniest hint of a baby bump we spy? Even though their babies are due at the same time Kim Kardashian is seriously beating Kate Middleton as far as the bump size is concerned, but it looks like Kate is slowly catching up. The Duchess of Cambridge looked healthy, blooming and gorgeous as she attended the Saint Patrick’s Day Irish Guards parade yesterday, and even wore the same green Emila Wickstead coat as last year for the occasion. Well if you can’t wear a green coat on St Paddy’s Day, when can you, eh? Despite wearing the same coat to the same event for the second year in a row, it certainly wasn’t a case of déjà vu, as the Duchess of Cambridge mixed the look up by wearing her hair in a chic chignon, and opting for demure black tights instead of her trusty nude pair. Do you prefer the 2012 or 2013 look? Let us know your thoughts!

Kate Middleton recycles her white Alexander McQueen coat-dress for Order of the Garter

Kate Middleton joined the Duchess of Cornwall and the Countess of Wessex for the Order of the Garter service at Windsor Castle yesterday – and all three ladies complemented each other beautifully with their pristine white ensembles and elaborate headpieces. The Duchess of Cambridge recycled the Alexander McQueen coat-dress she wore to last year’s Trooping the Colour (one of our faves, we must say) and teamed it with what is believed to be her Reiss Peacock dress, yet another Jane Corbett hat, nude LK Bennett pumps (natch) and Natalie box clutch bag. It’s nice to see the coat at full length this time around – but let’s be thankful for Kate’s sake that there weren’t any gale-force winds yesterday, otherwise she might have found herself having a bit of a Marilyn moment. Although we have no doubt that she would have made it look elegant! Even though we loved Kate’s monochrome look last year (she wore a black hat with the outfit!), we favour this all-white ensemble much more – there’s something very heavenly and Princessy about it! What do you guys think?

Vivienne Westwood wants Kate Middleton to recycle her outfits more

The nation seems to be divided when it comes to the Duchess of Cambridge and her penchant for stepping out in the same clothes more than once. While some people may disapprove of how Kate Middleton doesn’t make the most of the fact that she has access to pretty much any garment she wants, Dame Vivienne Westwood thinks quite the opposite… “I don’t have any advice for her, although think it would be great if she wore the same clothes over and again, because that’s very good for the environment and it would send out a very nice message,” the designer said. “If you’re going to all that trouble to get an outfit that suits you, then you should keep on wearing it. I mean you don’t have to have a red outfit one day and then something almost the same in blue the next.” This isn’t the first time the designer has spoken out about our future Queen – remember a few years ago she criticised her make-up by saying she wore too much eyeliner? Do you think V-West has a point RE the recycling or do you think Kate should step out in something new every time she makes a public appearance? [Daily Mail]

Kate Middleton looks resplendent in recycled grey Roksanda Ilincic

Even though she was without her hubby, Kate Middleton oozed confidence and glamour as she walked the red carpet for the Creative Industries reception in aid of the British Government’s GREAT Campaign. And our future Queen really is a shining example of all that is great with our nation. The Duchess of Cambridge treated us to get another wardrobe wonder, this time by way of a dove grey dress by Roksanda Ilincic. (She previously wore it last year during her and Prince William’s trip to America in case you wanted to know,) Kate Middleton’s trademark flowing locks weren’t freely flowing on her shoulders though, as they were pristinely styled into an elegant chignon – perfect for showcasing those glistening hooped Kiki McDonough earrings. And we’re sure that women around the world will be having leg envy too! Another flawless appearance from our Duchess – fingers crossed we won’t have long to wait until her next one! [Daily Mail]

Kate Middleton vs Meghan Markle: Who wore Diane Von Furstenberg’s Zarita dress best?

The eagle-eyed fashion police have been quick to figure out that the Diane Von Furstenberg dress Kate Middleton wore last night to the Anna Freud National Centre charity gala held at Kensington Palace was seen on none other than our gal Meghan Markle back in 2012. Further cementing the fact that the sisters-in-law to be share a similar sense of style. While Meghan opted for a navy, shorter version of the elegant lace-sleeved “Zarita” dress, the Duchess of Cambridge recycled her more demure floor-length interpretation which she’s been pictured in twice already when pregnant with Princess Charlotte in 2014. If the decision as to whom wore it best was down to Meghan, we suspect she’d concede to Kate. Describing her look as somewhat of a fashion faux pas, while speaking with Glamour UK she said, “I was going to this event and there was this D.V.F. lace dress with a zipper up the back, and it was so fitted, and had tea-length sleeves. . . . I bought one in navy and black. It was too tight, and too short, and my hair was too polished, and everything about it was trying too hard.” Who do you think wore it best? Kate or Meghan? If you’re leaning more towards Meghan’s camp, you’ll be pleased to know her take on the Zarita dress is on sale over at MatchesFashion.com.

Is this Kate Middleton’s best Saint Patrick’s Day outfit to date?

Kate Middleton never fails to pull out all the sartorial stops during her public outings, and her latest appearance at the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade in Aldershot was no exception. For the past two years, the Duchess of Cambridge celebrated St Paddy’s Day in a green Emilia Wickstead coat – a very apt colour choice – but she decided to go for something different this time around. While the Duchess stuck with the traditional colour of green (not the easiest hue to wear but she definitely made it work for her!) she went for a different coat, this time choosing a stunning Hobbs ‘Persephone’ double-breasted trench which is still available to buy in a few sizes if you’re quick enough, It’s even on sale, too! Kate accessorised her Hobbs coat with a Gina Foster hat, a bold Cartier shamrock brooch, and matching shoes and clutch. While most people might look like an oversized leprechaun dressed head to toe in green, Kate Middleton looks chicer than ever! Do you love her look as much as we do?

Princess Beatrice recycles her Jonathan Saunders

Look like Princess Beatrice is taking sartorial tips from her cousin-in-law Kate Middleton, as she stepped out in a green Jonathan Saunders dress that we saw her wearing back in January. She was attending a charity event at the Duggal Greenhouse last night in Brooklyn, New York, so we admire her decision to bring some Scottish fashion to the States. While Bea – posing above with her very dapper boyfriend Dave Clark –  seemed to stick to the same choice of footwear and black tights, she mixed things up a bit by opting to wear the dress as it appeared on the runway, and dismissed the chunky black belt she teamed the dress with at the start of the year. We actually think the lack of belt accentuates her figure more, so we’re glad she decided against it this time around. Take a look at the dress back in January and let us know which styling you prefer. [Image]

Kate Middleton in Emilia Wickstead for Queen’s garden party

It’s the time for the Buckingham Palace Garden Party again – we can ‘t believe it’s already been a whole year since the last one; time really does fly! Just like last year, Kate Middleton turned to Emilia Wickstead (easily one of her favourite designers) for a suitable outfit for the party. While she wore a baby pink pleated dress from the designer back in 2012, this time she opted for a yellow Marella coat dress instead. She teamed it with a very striking white hat by Jane Corbett, and matching Russell & Bromley Park Avenue clutch and heels. Looking lovely, chic and elegant as always! Naturally despite the large hat and bright coat dress, all eyes were on the Duchess of Cambridge’s baby bump, and we can see that it’s coming along quite nicely – not long to go until we meet the future heir to the throne! Another style triumph for our future Queen; the epitome of blooming beauty!

Kate Middleton Celebrity Style Inspiration: How to dress and feel like a princess

It’s no secret that Kate Middleton is one of the most fashionable and influential women in the world. She’s beautiful, inspirational, and a style icon who many women want to dress like. Who doesn’t want to look and feel like a princess, wearing beautiful, bedazzling outfits, by some of the most prestigious designers across the globe? Kate’s style is uber-classy and modest. Her tall, slender figure means that she can get away with wearing almost any outfit or pulling off any look. Known for her love of British fashion and for mixing high street pieces with designer wear, it’s relatively easy for Kate-inspired fashionistas to pull off her look on a budget. To make it easy for aspiring princesses to find garments similar to the Duchess’ style, here are a few points to take into consideration when trying to copy the look! 1: Kate loves block colours and monochrome. She often chooses items that are demurely fitted to her body but very conservative, super subtle, chic and classy. Pick items like this to allow for versatility and to make it easy for you to recycle your outfits! 2: Kate occasionally wears prints and textures so if you are a lover of the two; make sure you invest in something current yet timeless, like a printed scarf or pieces with small polka dots. 3: When accessorising, think elegant and pretty. Accessories such as clutch bags in neutral shades, fine bracelets, pear drop earrings and printed silk scarves are some of her favourites. They are very simple, polished, and easy to pull off. 4: Finally, remember that Kate loves to wear inconspicuous fuss-free attire, with an emphasis on clean lines and structure, so when thinking about mastering her style don’t forget to invest in three well thought-out designer pieces to mix with […]

Keira Knightley gets married in Chanel (and possibly recycled Rodarte)

And (just as we anticipated) the bride wore Chanel! As we told you last week, Keira Knightley and her Klaxons drummer boyfriend James Righton tied the knot at the weekend, in front of just 11 guests in the South of France. Congratulations to the newlyweds! Keira toned down her bridal look for the intimate ceremony, opting to wear a knee-length pale pink strapless corset dress with a full ballet skirt, which she teamed with flat shoes, a garland in her hair, and a tweed Chanel jacket. Some people are even speculating that Keira “did a Kate Middleton” and “recycled” her wedding dress from five years ago. Take a look at the pic of Keira in Rodarte and see for yourselves… looks pretty uncanny, right? We think the blushing bride and groom looked radiant on their big day – we wish them a lifetime of happiness together! What do you think of Keira’s wedding dress? [Image]

Kate Middleton back in Jenny Packham at Botanical Gardens in Singapore

The Duchess of Cambridge and her beloved Jenny Packham have at long last been reunited! We’ve been seeing Kate dress down lately to watch the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and as effortlessly and unfairly stunning as she looked in her casual getup, we’re glad to see her back in her glam gear! Kate Middleton wore a gorgeous light pink pleated Jenny Packham dress to the Botanical Gardens in Singapore, which was almost a nod to the culture thanks to its kimono style structuring. No one can say the Duchess doesn’t dress for the occasion… she and her hubby had a pink and white hybrid orchid named after them at the Gardens, so Kate’s dusty pink orchid dress couldn’t have been more appropriate. If only we could match our clothes to our daily activities! This is only the first day of Kate and Wills’ nine-day tour of South East Asia and the South Pacific, so prepare for many more defining style moments! How many “recycled” pieces do you think we’ll see? Are there any dresses you want to make a comeback? [Daily Mail]

Kate Middleton and The Queen complement each other at the Paralympics Opening Ceremony

Leave it to Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth II to colour co-ordinate for the stunning Opening Ceremony of the Paralympic Games last night. The two ladies who are always impeccably dressed didn’t disappoint us as they sat poised and ready to absorb the entertainment and do their royal duties at the same time. The Duchess of Cambridge wore an intricate beige coat dress by Danish Label DAY Birger et Mikkelsen, and naturally accessorised with her fave LK Bennett shoes and perfect, shiny locks. And yes, before you ask, you have seen it before; she wore it back in 2006 and then again at Zara Phillips’ wedding last summer, but who cares? She looks breathtaking! The Queen also showcased her style credentials in a light peach and silver coat dress, which she accessorised with cream gloves and a matching handbag. We do love our stylish royals, don’t you? We wonder where Harry was… [What Kate Wore]

Kate Middleton wears blue Whistles dress to London 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremony

As well as Posh, Ginger, Sporty, Baby and Ginger Spice and a bevy of gold-clad iconic supermodels, there was one other person we were looking forward to seeing at the London 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremony… and of course that was Kate Middleton. The Duchess of Cambridge looked poised, elegant, dignified and generally gorgeous, as usual, as she watched the ceremony in the prime viewing position with brother-in-law Prince Harry. Kate’s blue Whistles ‘Bella’ dress wasn’t particularly groundbreaking and it wasn’t anything we hadn’t seen before – Kate looked like same old Kate Middleton, but that’s never really going to be a bad thing, is it? Akin to her Opening Ceremony outfit, this dress was also “recycled” as she had previously worn it back in June to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee concert. As usual, another unflawed appearance from the Duchess. We wonder what her next official event will be…

Is it Pippa or Kate? The younger Middleton sister steps out sporting big sister’s style

Pippa Middleton shot to fame for two reasons: firstly, she’s the fortunate sibling of Kate Middleton, who happens to be married to the future king of this country; secondly, she has a much applauded derrière, which revealed its perfect form to 2 billion watching around the world in a perfect McQueen bridesmaid dress, on April 29. Having seen her sister splashed across every possible medium; fashion critics poring over her every sartorial choice, never-ending legs and over-kohled eyes, it’s refreshing to see Pippa jump on the dress-and LK Bennett style wedges- bandwagon. Spotted in London, Pippa skilfully echoed her older sister’s style in a cropped leather jacket and black dress. She accessorised with a beige clutch and what appear to be the tan versions of older sister Kate’s black patent LK Bennett wedges – she so happily recycles. Pippa looked relaxed, her ‘Royal Mocha’ tan glowing perfectly, but a clutch in the day? After getting accustomed to Pippa’s casual tote-clutching appearances, it’s slightly dressy for an a.m. appearance. Although Kate wins in the height section, Pippa looks equally as good, but I’d like to believe she won’t take to repeating her sister’s wardrobe choices. She’s the ‘hotter’ younger sister with a world-renowned behind and a string of admirers including Prince Harry, who quietly but definitely stole a big chunk of the limelight at the Royal Wedding. I want to see her rebel in her style choices, not to become a permanently papped style icon, and to make her own mark in this land of newfound fame she now belongs to.

Due a wardrobe detox? So say the £400 worth of unworn clothes in your wardrobe

After witnessing the sporty spectacular that was the Chanel Couture show, you’re probably budgeting for your next haul of shimmering sneakers, right? Well, just hold fire! Because, according to a recent survey released by luxury resale clothing site Vestiaire Collective, the average British woman has over £1900 worth of clothes, handbags and accessories in her wardrobe. Doesn’t sound like much, does it? Read on. Commissioned by public opinion poll YouGov, the survey of 1000 women also revealed further, rather shocking statistics about our hoarding shopping habits. In 2013, British women left an average of £404 work of clothes unworn, while one in three women admit to forgetting what actually lurks in the depths of their wardrobes. A staggering 80% of women own fashion items they haven’t worn in the past year, while 26% of those surveyed revealed the reason for ditching certain items was because they were wrong size or fit. But, what does this scramble of statistics actually size up to? Is there any way to put our fashion waste into perspective? Assessing the numbers at hand, Vestiaire Collective estimates that this could mean a whopping £10.1 billion worth of fashion lying paid for but unworn in women’s wardrobes. Wake up call, much? Whether fast fashion (we’re looking at you, Zara), the ease of online shopping or increasingly unhealthier lifestyles are to blame for our addiction to impulse buying with regretful after-effects, we don’t know. But, maybe it’s time we took a lesson in recycling from the queen of repeat-outfits, Kate Middleton, and opted for a wardrobe detox, instead. We’re in, are you? [Image]

Treat her to…..an outfit for the races!

Excited for your day at the races? Why not be a great boyfriend (or hubby) and treat the lady in your life to her outfit. We know selecting an outfit for your significant other is a challenge at the best of times, let alone the races. Don’t let the strict dress code put you off – we have the perfect example of what is expect from racegoers right here, so feel free to seek as much inspiration from it as you want. This look is Royal Enclosure approved; if you can get in there (it has the strictest dress code of all the enclosures!) then you’ll get in anywhere! 1. Coast Mycah dress. Ok so like the majority of most outfits, the dress is one of the most important aspects so you want to get it right. Luckily, this dress is not only completely gorgeous, but it adheres to all the rules and regulations implemented in the very strict style guide. It’s a modest length, it has sleeves (strapless dresses or dresses with spaghetti straps are banned) and it’s not too in-your-face which means you can accessorise to your heart’s content! 2. John Lewis Neave structured feather hat. If you’re heading into the Royal Enclosure (lucky you!) then unfortunately fascinators aren’t allowed so she’s going to have to make do with a hat instead and pray it doesn’t fly off. This badboy from John Lewis is not only subtle it’s quite versatile too, which means she can do a Kate Middleton and recycle it for future weddings. 3. Dune Blissy striped clutch bag. She’ll want a bag big enough for all your betting slips, money (including her juicy winnings!), mobile phone and emergency lipstick, but not too big so that it distracts from your outfit. (Speaking of betting, don’t forget […]
