Daughter of rocker and designer Pearl Lowe and musician Gavin Rossdale, Daisy was destined to be a beauty. Having modelling for a few years now, and strutted her stuff at a number of shows at London Fashion Week, she’s now made the lucrative jump into advertising. We saw her sizzling for DKNY. Daisy looks fab in a khaki grey playsuit with white lace up boots and the ever-chic aviator sunglasses. But you may be surprised to see this casual, easy going shot, I mean, she looks like she’s mid food shop. But wait, there is a reason, she is being snapped by the legend than is Scott Schuman. If you’re not familiar with his work then you may know him better as

London Fashion Week: Fashion East

Natascha Stolle Spring Summer 2009 Fashion East is a project that supports promoting new (or newish) designers. It originally started in The Old Truman Brewery in 1997; the brewery hosted a few shows and later became committed to helping recent graduates step up the design ladder. But the crowd gathered outside Quaglino’s (where this years winners were showcasing) suggests that these designers have already become something of a favourite in the fashion world.

London Fashion Week: Charles Anastase

Yesterday Charles Anastase, who has just signed a five year production and licensing deal with Pier SpA showed for the first time in London, and judging from the reaction of the audience, us Brits are glad he did. Held in a beautiful space on Marylebone road, Anastase’s SS09 collection was very Parisian meets geek chic with a ballerina and lolita influence.

Vodka or Wine? Kanye Says Vodka

Ever since our eardrums resonated to the Daft Punk-inspired Stronger, Kanye West and shutter shades have become the iconography of style. So it comes as no surprise that Absolut Vodka has tapped into Kanye’s reverent status in fashion to give their vodka a metamorphic, stylish feel. There’s only room in the world for one Kanye West and the video does nothing more than massage Mr. West already larger-than-life persona so I’ll stick to my cabernet sauvignon as my style elixir! Runway: Dior Homme Spring 2009

If there’s one thing that cannot be denied of the Dior Homme spring 2009 collection, it is the effective use of popping colours. The electric blues, fuchsias and metallic gold blots were placed at the perfect time to nudge the observers when their eyes grew tired of scoping out the details on the boarder-line monotonous all-black looks.

Dover Street Market: Pretentious, Moi?

I pride myself on being quite open-minded when it comes to fashion, trying any look and trend at least once. So, when I had my first trip to London’s infamous Dover Street Market (the home of all things avant-garde), I was more than a little taken aback. Instead of being greeted by your usual department store clone, I was approached by someone who appeared to be wearing a purple padded pregnant suit with matching horn-rimmed glasses. Interesting, or just plain weird – is this what fashion has come to?

Style Crush: Cassie-style cool

Not usually one to idolise the style choices of fictional teenage girls (childhood ‘Skins‘ as my new style crush. The show, which chronicles the debaucherous antics of a group of Bristol based teens, is dressed up in the kind of stylised, nonchalant clothes that make me long for the days of my own teenage rebellion. I’m hooked on the entire cast, but it is Cassie’s offbeat eccentricity that has really got me thinking.

Bag alert: Patent Francine by Coach

The name Coach may not fly off everyone’s tongue as pre-eminent handbag designers, but I’m a big fan of their merchandise (especially their planners and sunglasses). They also have very lovely window displays in their Manhattan shops, so I always try and walk by for a look-see every few weeks so I know what’s current.

Lunchtime Buy: ABS Ombre Dress

With ombre (think refined tie-dye) all over the runways from Baby Phat to Louis Vuitton, this color bleeding technique is sure to be a big trend this Spring. With gradient party frocks. accessories (bags, shoes, and hats) and even make-up palettes already hitting the shelves and the pages of our favorite fashion mags, it might just be time to start looking for a new and colourful addition to our wardrobe. We love this soft grey to powder blue to cream ombre bubble dress by ABS. The soft silk chiffon fabric and mute colours compliment each other beautifully and the baby blue creates an unexpected and interesting pop of color. The jewel detailing at the neckline adds some contrasting texture and the low back oozes understated sexiness. $355. Available at Neiman Marcus

Interviews: Fashion Editor, Hadley Freeman

I’m an avid fan of award winning fashion journalist, Hadley Freeman, she isn’t afraid to say exactly what she thinks and I either find myself in full agreement or total disagreement of her opinions (there’s never a grey area). As Deputy Fashion Editor at The Guardian and contributing editor for British Vogue, Hadley knows fashion like the back of her hand. Her latest book That extra half an inch“… but we won’t hold that against her!

Opinions: Who can replace Anna Wintour?

When Rachel Zoe, go-to stylist for Hollywood starlets, recently claimed that she was more influential than editrix extraordinaire, Anna Wintour (aka the inspiration for “The Devil Wears Prada), I covered my eyes and shuddered, knowing that vengeance from the fashion deity would be certain and swift. Before Zoe could piece together another boho chic ensemble for one of her 20-something clientele, the waifish stylist was dropped by her long-time agency without need for explanation.

Psst…Boho never really went away

It’s the relaxed, carefree way to enjoy fashion, and it still reigns this summer. We love the styles, the loose fits flatter as do the natural earthly tones. The bohemian style is still much the same as it was, but obviously for a new season, a new twist is needed; so in place of the gypsy skirt you’ve got the maxi dress, stacked woven wedges and chunky, wooden accessories. So if, like most, you never really let the boho go, and your big belts, sun glasses and oversized bags are within reach, then grab them because you’ll need them this summer! [Image:Stylefinder]

Retro Swimwear

I’m loving retro swimwear at the moment. It’s such a fun alternative to the traditional bikini and cut out swimwear – which lets face it, we’re not all cut out for. Swimsuit boutique Poppi swim has a great selection of retro bathing suits inspired by 40’s & 50’s design. Granted some of the floral styles are a bit overwhelming but you can’t go wrong with a plain black one piece halter, $72. The shape is flattering and fabulously elegant. Oh I can just imagine myself now lounging by the pool, cocktail in hand and donning a pair of oversized sunglasses. I need a holiday!

New York New York

So far NY Fashion Week has been so good! The cynic in me predicted that many of the collections would be on the dull side colour wise, but on the contrary. It could possibly be because many of the designers seem to have taken inspiration from Russia , which is known for embracing colour – but either way I’m a happy bunny all round. Now I can’t profess to be one of the many who’ve been raving about Karen Walker, I’ve bumped into her profile a couple of times, and I know the basics. When it comes to her designs, I’ve liked what I’ve seen but haven’t probed further. But after viewing her collection for this season, not only did she bowl me over but this New Zealand chic won me over too. Her use of colour was fantastic from orange outerwear and bright bold blue anoraks and dresses to red berets and woollen caps and even yellow glasses. The lack of knitwear gave the impression that the collection was not dictated by weather; rather it was versatility and comfortability which reined over each piece. Shying away from the skinny trouser leg that’s dominated trends for too long now, Walker loosened it up a little employing a wider leg and higher waists and worked skinny brown belts into most of the outfits to accentuate the waist and capture a consistent key look. What impressed me most was this was a youthful yet conservative collection which had the capability of catering to all. Yes…..I will be raving about Karen Walker in the future! [Images:Vogue.co.uk]

The “M” is coming….

This season has got to be the most overloaded in terms of high street collaborations, it feels like I’m constantly writing about one partnership or another and yet I’ve never purchased an item from any of them. I’ve never done the whole queuing for ages outside a store or getting on to e-bay to purchase left over stock. Neither have I made a purchase from a celebrity label, but that’s just because I’m irrationally snobbish about celebrity lines. I wonder if I’m one of the minority or the majority. Having said that if – that’s a big IF because it’s unlikely to ever happen – Johnny Depp teamed up with a high street retailer I’d be there sleeping outside the store a week before launch date. Just kidding….I’d only do that for the master that is Galliano! Anyway….back to the matter at hand…the first of the pictures from the campaign -shot by Steven Klein – for Madonna’s new line for H&M, “M” by Madonna has surfaced. What do guys think? For me it hasn’t exceeded my expectations, because I had none, but it isn’t disappointing either. I like the futuristic feel of the shot and the glasses aren’t too bad at all. [Image:Dlisted]

Armani dressed England for World Cup

Looks like the World Cup is going to be a very fashionable affair with Dolce and Gabbana dressing the Italians and Giorgio Armani taking charge of the English team. Keeping the wardrobe very classic and blue, the Italian designer will be kitting the team out in navy wool suits, and light blue ties. Casual wear will consist of blue trousers and polo shirts, accessorised with a divers watch, wrap around sunglasses, a clutch bag and personalised cufflinks bearing each players shirt number. We can’t wait…and neither can Armani by the sounds of it, the designer spoke of his admiration for the football players….. “I’ve enjoyed dressing soccer stars for many years. In many ways, they are the modern-day gladiators. Both on and off the field they have become icons. As a designer, it’s always good to stretch yourself, and the challenge of dressing people whose bodies are fine-tuned and developed is one that I particularly enjoy” Stella McCartney interviews Giorgio Armani for the independent

Kate binges excessively

“In fashion, excess is not for creative purposes, whatever people may say. “It’s about escapism. You just have to get out of it to deal with it. I think that’s what a lot of people in fashion that I know do it for. I know that’s why I did it.” – Kate Moss Kate Moss currently the face of Dior and Rimmel will surely be suffering much embarrassment today as she finds herself amidst a major scandal which could seriously harm her career. British Newspaper the Daily Mirror has published shocking pictures of Kate snorting a huge amount of cocaine through a rolled up banknote. The binge took place in a West London recording studio with boyfriend Doherty and his friends, during a recording session of the new Babyshambles album.

Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring

Time is moving so fast anyone would think it was chasing Beyonce’s ass. (Yes that girl is sex all the way and she has a damn good stylist, who is working that diva look for her). Anyway spring is making its way to your side of town ALREADY, therefore its time to put away all those dark colours and force yourself to try out the pinks, blues, greens and yellows. Fashion is so exciting right now, and most of all individuality is being embraced. So tap in to your creativity and create a couple of trends of your own. Try out ribbons; tie them round your neck, your waist or even your wrists. Get out of those trousers and jump in to skirts and cropped trousers, let go of those jumpers that have hugged you through winter and replace them with fitted tops. And finally pack away the parkas and invest in a Trenchcoat.
