Five floral pieces to feel pretty in this summer

We don’t know about you, but we’re getting a little fidgety about summer over here. You see, when the sun has its hat, we’re very happy indeed – and frankly we’ve had enough of grey skies and soggy feet. So, with the sun’s glow just around the corner, we’re in the mood for something suitably summery, and we reckon florals will give us the fashion boost to hold out. From daisies to ditsy and poppies to painterly, floral prints are the perfect pairing for warm days, and luckily, they’re about in abundance. We’ve dug around for our favourite floral pieces to get us – and you – in the mood for sunshine. See below for our top picks that are guaranteed to get you feeling pretty this summer…   There’s nothing more feminine and flirty than a Fifties floral dress, especially when it’s bursting with multi-coloured blooms. The structured shape and deep rounded neck add a simplistic streak to D&G’s Mimosa dress that makes it perfect for any summer soiree. D&G Mimosa dress, £320, available at Matches. BUY NOW!   This French Connection beau dress is loud and proud. The digital flower print in a rainbow palette is offset perfectly by the sumptuous silky fabric, meaning you don’t need anything other than a slick of bright lipstick and simple flat sandals to accessorise. French Connection beau fleur print dress, £135, available at French Connection. BUY NOW!   Adding floral accessories to your spring style is a must. Nicholas Kirkwood’s Bizzarre satin ankle strap sandals are a serious statement, but we love their overly feminine charm and cool abstract print. Pair with a white shift dress and nude accessories for balance. Nicholas Kirkwood Bizzarre satin ankle strap sandals, £505, available at Browns. BUY NOW!   Looking for a subtler way to […]

Cannes 2011: best dressed (pt 3)

As Cannes goes past its halfway point, you might be forgiven for thinking that the fashion may start to suffer (after all, it’s been going on for a week, how much couture is there on the planet?). Well, you’d be wrong, of course, because the last few days have bought out some of the most fabulous frocks on the most famous of people on the planet. Even red carpet royalty Brad and Angelina have made an appearance, though the less said about Brad’s white suit the better. See below for our third instalment of the best dressed ladies at Cannes Film Festival 2011…   Gwen Stefani Gwen in a floor-length ball gown? Not going to happen. The No Doubt singer (pictured here with hubby Gavin Rossdale) went in a completely different direction for the premiere of Tree of Life and chose a daring sequinned jumpsuit by Stella McCartney. Only Gwen could get away with a neckline that deep paired with wild curls in her hair, smoky eyes and hot pink  lips. Rosario Dawson Strutting her stuff down the catwalk for the Naomi Campbell’s Fashion for Relief charity event was actress Rosario Dawson. Sporting this seasons hottest hue, the tangerine coloured draped dress was the perfect shade for her and her uber fab figure. Perfect. Naomi Campbell Unlike most of the other attendees clad in white, Naomi’s been favouring the darker, more mysterious hues at Cannes. We love this dress on her at The Beaver premiere. The fitted bodice and the tiered skirt create a flawless (albeit softer) silhouette on the super. Jane Fonda Ok, we admit it, we couldn’t resist featuring Jane Fonda in Marchesa again. Continuing her successful style streak on the catwalk, she took to the runway for charity looking delectable in a figure-hugging gold dress. We can only presume jaws were dropping in the front row. How is […]

Beyonce’s fabulous fashion comeback

Hello, who is this hot honey blonde we see? Why, it’s only Beyonce! Despite the odd appearance at a basketball game, Beyonce’s largely steered clear of the spotlight for some time, but we for one are super pleased to see she’s back and looking better than ever. Showing off her newly blonde locks, she left restaurant L’Avenue at the Meurice Hotel in Paris with husband Jay-Z last week looking utterly fabulous. We love her sexy draped printed dress complete with waist cinching black sash and matching crock handbag. She chose gold sandals that perfectly complimented her honey coloured skin and the metallic flashes in the dress – and, of course, no celeb outfit is complete with the obligatory pair of sunglasses. And judging by the size of that rock on her left hand, things are still go swimmingly with her hunky hubby. Good to have you back, B! [poll id=”95″]

From football to fashion: Victoria Beckham’s rise to designer darling

I’ll level with you, I really like Victoria Beckham. I always have (even when all she could do was pout and mime), except, perhaps, for that awful wag phase, but even then I always had a sneaky eye cast over her. Trouble is, I’ve never liked what she’s worn – until her recent style makeover. Yesterday she celebrated her 37th birthday in Beverly Hills (where else?) and it got me thinking about her career. I wonder if Victoria Beckham ever envisioned she’d have a fashion empire and a name as one of the most sought-after designers before she hit 40? I didn’t see it coming when I was dancing to Wannabe, I tell ya. Since the launch of her eponymous dress collection, which has now expanded into handbags and sunglasses, like you didn’t know, she’s been heralded season after season for her elegant feminine designs that just keep getting stronger. Sure, she might have ripped off found inspiration from Roland Mouret and pinched a design from Osman, but if you can’t put your friendship with women’s favourite designers to good use what’s the meaning of life anyway? I kid. Credit where credit’s due, Victoria can design, and she can do it brilliantly. Impeccable tailoring and and fit to flatter every woman’s figure, her signature draping and exquisite cuts are earning her brownie points in fashion editors’ diaries and beyond – utterly chic, utterly Beckham. And her move into handbags was nothing short of genius. Classic, timeless and totally sophisticated, she’s surpassed everyone’s expectations with uber elegant designs that are screaming to be worn everywhere, and though I admit I’ve never seen one in real life, Victoria’s extensive Birken collection and Hillier’s know-how assures me they’ll be exquistely executed. A few years ago I’d have laughed if you said Victoria Beckham […]

Coachella Style Special: Nicole Richie

No best dressed list is complete without Nicole Richie, especially when it’s based entirely around a festival. Famed for her hippy boho chic, no one looks more at home dancing around in a field than Ms. Richie. The mum-of-two took time out to attend the Californian festival and chose a comfortable girlie outfit for the three day music bonanza, donning an oversized floral smock dress and flat suede boots that made us envy her wardrobe all the more. Her tousled long locks and oversized round black sunglasses completed the outfit (and are a clever way of hiding tired eyes or smudged make-up, FYI). A simple and stylish look that will be easy to emulate at Glastonbury this year, non? [poll id=”87″]

Diane Kruger’s dated double denim

We’re so used to seeing Diane Kruger looking nothing less than perfect that we were quite shocked to see photographs over the weekend of the actress looking… well, not so perfect. A close friend of Karl Lagerfeld, it’s very rare that she puts a foot wrong. From her red carpet Chanel gowns to her dressed down, indie chic ensembles, the German beauty has always been high up on our best dressed list – but she was clearly having an off day last weekend. Arriving at LAX airport, undoubtedly after a long flight, means we can overlook the flat booties and oversized knit. After all, comfort is an essential factor when travelling.  But it’s the double denim combination and yellow sunglasses we can’t forgive. Sure, we’re all for mixing and matching denim, but this is so last season, Diane. This is the woman who bagged our teenage crush Joshua Jackson, though, so we’ll let her off with a casual warning this time… What do you think of Diane’s double denim? [poll id=”79″]

Anna Wintour in J Brand jeans shocker

No, you are eyes are not deceiving you nor is this a dream where everything is backwards. That is Anna Wintour and she is wearing jeans! American Vogue‘s Editor-in-Chief is known for sporting a classic prim look, favouring shift dresses and pearls over downtown ensembles, so it’s a very pleasant surprise to see her letting her hair down (metaphorically of course, her sharp bob has remained the same for years) and looking relaxed. At the Sony Ericsson Open Anna was spotted wearing J Brand’s ‘914’ jeans with a long-sleeved printed Proenza Schouler sweater and her trademark black sunglasses. We love the shape of the jeans – cigarette slim around the top with a kick flare from the knee is the most stylish way to wear them this season. Anna knows. We’re loving her refreshingly simple style – maybe she’s starting to soften? What do you think of Ms. Wintour’s look? [poll id=”75″]

Kids’ Choice Awards 2011: Best Dressed

Every year the celebs turn out in full force to celebrate the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles, and whilst it might not be the Oscars, it doesn’t stop the attendees upping the fashion stakes in fantastic form. With such a young and cool atmosphere, heavy long gowns and Chopard jewels were out in favour of fresh, youthful looks at this year’s 24th awards, all set for the spring season ahead. We’ve scoured the orange carpet for pictures of our favourite fashionistas from the weekend’s ceremony, so without further ado, here are the emerging style setters that stole the show at the 2011 Kids’ Choice Awards. Welcome to our top 10 best dressed list… Selena Gomez Selena was a real winner on the night in this outfit. Her Christian Cota shorts and top combo looked fantastic paired with her electric blue Camilla Skovgaard strappy sandals. Fresh, young and the best dressed on the night. Miley Cyrus Miley looked fresh and summery in her colourful strapless dress by Dolce and Gabbana. She can sometimes dress too old for her age on the red carpet, but this look is perfectly appropriate. Pixie Lott Pixie looks cute and playful is this adorable Miu Miu dress. The heart print and quirky collar give her an edge over many of the other looks seen on the night. Black strappy shoes and a long black shoulder bag complete her look. Kim Kardashian Kim showed off her killer curves in this Azzedine Alaia white ruffled dress. The colour looks great against her skin tone and she accessorized well with a beautiful Adriana Castro python clutch. This is definitely one of the most carefree looks we’ve seen from Kim in a while. Heidi Klum Heidi looked effortlessly chic in this fantastically-embellished Gucci mini dress. The spiky detailing gives a […]

Love or Hate: Missoni Zigzag Dress

So British Summer Time is officially upon us, and what better way to celebrate the shift to lighter evenings and warmer weather than with a sunny little addition to your wardrobe? I feel like I’ve been wearing chunky knits, scarves and various other forms of woollen accessories for an aeon. But this cute Missoni zigzag dress is bright, breezy and oh-so-chic. The luxury Italian label is famed for producing iconic knitwear prints and this dress sums its aesthetic up perfectly.  The pattern – a mix of black, white, green, orange and purple zigzags – is constructed in a fine-quality knit material and the slim straps and square neck give it an elegant finish. If I was to wear this dress, I’d take inspiration from Margherita Missoni, the heiress to the fashion house. She’s got that laid-back, glamorous, bohemian vibe going on and wears Missoni with simple sandals, huge sunglasses, a slick of coral lipstick and Mediterranean sun-kissed skin. All perfectly achievable, providing the Italians whisk a bit of their nice weather our way… Missoni zigzag Dress, £718, available at Matches. BUY NOW!

Editor’s top picks for spring

British Summertime officially kicked in yesterday, and though we don’t have the sunshine to prove it this morning, we sure have the bleary eyes (we want our hour back, by the way). But what this means, of course, is that spring has officially sprung, and to get you in the mood for the sun-filled months ahead, our editor’s been compiling her list of new-season must-haves to make sure you’re on your way to style stardom this summer. See below for her top picks that’ll have you walking on sunshine, even when the sky’s a little cloudy. Boutique by Jaeger stripe scallop dress, £130, available at Jaeger. BUY NOW! I’m all about detail this season, and I love Boutique by Jaeger’s scallop trim on its stripe dress – it’s the perfect way to add subtle interest to a simple spring staple. 2. Tangerine pleat shorts, £30, available at Topshop. BUY NOW! A pair of softly tailored shorts are one of the most versatile pieces you’ll own. Topshop’s tangerine pair will put a zingy zest in my step all season long. 3. Peacock dress with embroidery, £195, available at Reiss. BUY NOW! A white lace dress is my wardrobe fail-safe. I’ll be wearing this one from Reiss throughout spring while I attempt my best Gisele impression, and I’ll take it with me to autumn with the addition of black opaques – my staple wear-everywhere piece. 4. See by Chloe navy cut-out platforms, £267, available at my-wardrobe.com. BUY NOW! I can’t get enough of chunky shoes – the higher the better. See by Chloe’s navy cut-out sandals will provide a vibrant splash of colour, but their wooden block platform will prove ever-versatile. I’ll wear mine with cute ankle socks and a simple dress for a preppy edge come summer. 5. Thierry Lasry Lingery […]

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is relaxed in leather

As a Victoria’s Secret angel, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley probably never has an off day. But, rather irritatingly, her beauty doesn’t stop at her physical attributes – the girl also really knows how to dress. Spotted out shopping over the weekend with boyfriend Jason Statham, Rosie wore chic cropped jeans with flats and a loose fit tee with a large black tote. But it’s the leather jacket that has us drooling. A light-coloured biker jacket is the hottest cover-up of the season and, as Rosie has expertly demonstrated, can transform an otherwise nondescript outfit. Accessorising with oversized sunglasses and a sexy action hero boyfriend completes the look perfectly. Now where can we get one of those? [poll id=”63″]

Kate Beckinsale’s easy airport chic

Victoria Beckham once said she uses the airport as her own runway and it seems BFF Kate Beckinsale agrees. Arriving at Vancouver International Airport to begin filming Underworld IV earlier this week, the British actress looked effortlessly polished in a white mac, jeans and oversized sunglasses. Stepping off an airplane with perfectly coiffed hair and glowing skin is no easy feat, but we can definitely all learn something from Ms Beckinsale’s outfit. A mac is an easy, fail-safe cover up that can make the dullest of outfits look chic – she could have an old holey jumper under there, who knows? – whilst the dark sunglasses shield tired aeroplane eyes. She managed to match her oversized tote to her accessories and to the buttons on her coat, pulling it all together without looking twee. We’ll give it a go next time but somehow we still don’t think we’ll arrive at the airport looking as pretty as Kate does. [poll id=”53″]

Rachel Zoe’s maternity style

Only celeb stylist Rachel Zoe would consider five inch thigh-high boots appropriate maternity wear but gosh, doesn’t she do it well? Attending a Pre-Oscars party in LA last weekend, the mum-to-be wore head-to-toe black.   Since LA is experiencing some of it’s coldest days since the 1940s at the moment (no, we’re not in the least bit smug!), Rachel wrapped up in a huge shaggy fur coat. The outfit underneath was very simple – skinny jeans and a black tunic – but it’s her uber chic accessorising that takes the look from drab to directional. Adding her trademark oversized glasses and a bang on trend Seventies floppy hat, Zoe’s outfit was a far cry from the average Mothercare mum attire. What do you think of Rachel Zoe’s look? Is she a slummy or yummy Mummy? [poll id=”46″]

Barbie gets a sophisticated makeover

Everyone knows that the iconic Barbie doll will always be remembered for her itsy-bitsy waist, platinum blonde locks and skimpy outfits, but it’s time to put the past behind us and introduce the conservative architect Barbie – nope, we didn’t get excited either. As the famous toy turns 50, she’s undergone yet another career transformation, and with previous job titles including astronaut and surgeon, this time we see the famous blonde turn into an architect. Not her most glamorous of career moves, but we guess it’s just another way for the media to banish those ditsy blonde stereotypes. Her new get up comes complete with thick black rimmed glasses, a blueprint holder, a skyline printed dress and high heeled boots, all aimed to get young girls thinking about their futures more seriously – and although it’s not in her preferred pink colour palette, the stilettoes and tight fitting pencil skirt still can’t hide Barbie’s love for all things fashion. “We believe the Architect Barbie will help inspire a new generation to consider the profession of architecture,” the American Institute of Architecture tells the Telegraph. The new look comes as part of the latest designs in Mattel’s Barbie I Can Be line, with the new architect doll hitting shops in autumn this year. Maybe we’ll see a rise in women architects? We’re not holding our breath either.

Milan Fashion Week AW11: Prada and Emporio Armani

Friday’s collection of catwalk delights began with Prada and it’s latest offerings for autumn/winter 2011 at Milan Fashion Week. Miuccia Prada is renowned for wowing audiences with her unexpected, and somewhat surprising, take on fashion, and this season was no exception. With the Sixties princess coat maintaining a key focal point behind the collection, thick cashmere A-line versions could be seen at the beginning of the show, filtering through into pastel coloured plastic creations complete with circular disk detailing and fur collared necklines. Square toed Mary Janes could also be seen in snakeskin or suede, alongside fur aviator skull caps, shaggy sheep’s wool panelling, gym slip dresses, and green snakeskin belts. But the biggest hit of them all, and soon to be Prada’s biggest dresses of the season, were the translucent numbers. Complete with flesh pink and powder blue hues, the stiffened dresses and shirts were a button-embellished scale-like cyber dream. Emporio Armani‘s AW11 collection, on the other hand, took the brands signature colour to the extreme – pretty much all looks were black – with the occasional peacock blue fur shawl or handbag thrown in for good measure. Leather caps wrapped in black headscarves and dark glasses made way for a strong aviator theme, while fitted black jackets and tapered silk trousers went back to the tight-fitted tailored look Armani loves. Asymmetric tunic dresses and woolly black ponchos broke up the slim-line silhouettes, helping the fashion house break away from its style signatures, resulting in an ultra chic noir-tastic collection for autumn. London College of Fashion MA 2011 show

On Wednesday night the V&A’s prestigious Raphael Gallery played host to Duel, this year’s much awaited London College of Fashion MA catwalk event. Showcasing graduates’ work across design & technology and digital fashion the evening was a fash-packed hotbed for new talent, which meant industry experts and stars alike were out in force to show their support. Squeezed in alongside influential editors and buyers front row guests included a retro looking Marina from Marina and the Diamonds, faithful attendee Jo Wood, handbag designer Lulu Guinness and – as big haired as ever – the unmissable Jodie Harsh. Also spotted amongst the front row celebs was future style-star in the making, ex All Saint Mel Blatt’s super stylish daughter – loving the glasses girl! Womenswear highlights of the night included Jo Power‘s stunningly simple dresses in a select palette of black and white with the occasional flash of red. Defined by clean lines and modern silhouettes, it’s no surprise that such a desirable offering was shortlisted for collection of the year. Jennifer Morris‘s colourful looks saw fringing details give movement to already vibrant pieces. Jewel-like tones of amethyst and topaz were offset against citrus brights for a collection that was not only wearable but was made even more appealing by its on-trend credentials. Other favourites included Tim Ryhs Evans‘s cohort of sombre looking beauties where the focus was on exaggerated necklines and one surprisingly chic sheer head covering. Susana Bettencourt combined knitwear and hard-wear for a contemporary take on Eygyptian armour, while Dinu Bodiciu‘s big-shouldered mohair designs and statement head pieces created a thoroughly modern silhouette. The recipient of the prestigious Collection of the Year award – presented by none other than Harold Tillman CBE – was Italian born menswear graduate Matteo Molinari. His highly desirable collection combined premium tailoring with […]

In store for spring: House of Fraser

This is a guest post by Katy Sutton who, several months ago, won Wonderbra’s Full Effect Your Life competition and assisted us along to House of Fraser’s SS11 press day to see what’s in store for spring before it hits the shops. Here, she gives us her rendition of spring style from House of Fraser and highlights her favourite pieces… If there’s a trend you have your eye on for spring/summer 2011, you’re sure to find it nestled in the new season collections at House of Fraser. Sunglasses are a must for summer, not only because there’s a chance of sun but also because of the number one trend for SS11 – rainbow brights. Shield those eyes for bold, bright colour – hurray! – where House of Fraser’s Hot House collection is channelling the trend. A favourite piece of mine is a multi-coloured sheer jumpsuit from Ted Baker (above). Working in sync with an emerging trend of digital prints this jumpsuit is defiantly eye catching. A visual sensation of bright bursts of intensely pigmented colour generated by the digital print will see you hitting the mark for next season. What’s more, if you love this print as much as I do then be sure to carry it on; poolside. Yep, a beautiful swimsuit in the same print – perfect. For those with a quirky side there’s Coquettes, featuring cherry prints and small floral patterns. If you’re more of a classic woman, Techno Warrior is the trend for you. Featuring classic shift dresses, structured jackets, hard lines, tough textures, powerful colours and geometric shapes this collection knows exactly where it stands for this season. If, like me, you can’t help but fall nicely back into safari colours and tribal-inspired pieces in the summer then take a look at Bedouin. A beautiful […]

Kate Moss in Dior

Kate Moss is undoubtedly the queen of British style – her effortless fashion sense teamed with her supermodel looks all add up to one ultra trendy lady – and at Paris Fashion Week she was certainly dressed for the fashionable occasion. Opting to dress head to toe in black at the Dior spring/summer 2011 show in Paris, Ms. Moss looked sharp, fierce and (annoyingly) fantastic. The black fur shrug and leather pencil skirt –both by Dior – gave the outfit a welcoming contrast of textures, and her loose-fitting jumper adhered to her casual-chic taste while oversized sunglasses gave the outfit some much-loved star quality. Primped, preened and polished, this mum of one was ready to embrace the French runway and all that John Galliano had to offer – and front row at Dior? We’re too jealous for words.

Get the look: Victoria Beckham in vintage Courreges

How lovely is it to see Victoria Beckham back in colour? After her recent spell of dark clothes, it was a bit of a shock to see Posh Spice rocking a baby pink shift dress at Heathrow airport this week (but a good surprise, nevertheless). This vintage Courreges number makes Victoria look endlessly youthful, and we love the way she’s cleverly kept it from becoming sickly by teaming it with Miu Miu silver courts and cool sunglasses. Naturally, we’ve taken her look and recreated it just for you. The key to simple but effective VB dressing lies ahead… Acne Liberte dress, £230, Matches This Acne Liberte dress follows Victoria’s line of loose fit in a standout pastel shade. With pleat details this tank dress has texture and interest too, and is perfect for investing in something new for our daytime wardrobes. Vanessa Bruno Mary-Jane suede pumps, £123.75, theOutnet.com Posh’s Miu Miu court shoes are the perfect choice for this look – black would be too harsh against the dress, and any light shades may wander into mutton territory. Sure, metallics and pastels make a great combination, but we reckon these grey suede Mary Jane’s by Vanessa Bruno do just as good a job of grounding that stand-out dress. Alexander McQueen Sunglasses, £136, ASOS. Where would Vic be without her trusty sunglasses? Hers are own label (naturally), but this Alexander McQueen pair are a dead ringer for the retro-cool look she’s going for. Oversized and tinted is the order of the day, and these complete our run down of perfect airport dressing, Beckham style.

Vente-Privee: designer brands for smart shoppers!

We can’t believe we hadn’t heard about this sooner. A few months ago, we were introduced to an online shopping site that is relatively new to the UK. For those that haven’t already heard, it’s called Vente-Privee and frankly, it’s blooming marvellous. The online store was set up in France back in 2001 as an exclusive events-based sale site, which features major international brands. It has since grown massively, developing a presence in Spain, Germany, Italy and – in 2008 – the UK. The store isn’t limited to clothes (although designer sales occur regularly), as the site has an array of product categories including electronics, homeware, sports products and even cars! Too put it simply, Vente-Privee is a designer department store with wonderfully slashed prices. We likey. To become a member and hear about the latest sales on the site, all you need to do is register. The best thing about it is that it’s free and you also get email reminders when a sale is about to go live. We’re currently anticipating the Versace watch event which will begin on Friday and have been eyeing up some of the great Temperley pieces that are online now: This leather biker jacket is an absolute steal, at £375 down from a whopping £1,249! Browsing the site is easy and fun. Not only can you preview future sale items but you can also interact with the site in a number of ways, whether it’s via the Vente-Privee blog, your iPhone app or Vente-Privee bubble – a desktop feature – alerting you on upcoming sales and parcel shipment details. We put the Vente-Privee shopping experience to the test and were more than a little impressed. Well, how could you possibly be disappointed when a pair of Michael Kors sunglasses find themselves on your […]

Giorgio Armani launches Frames of Life

If you’re an 80s fan, and you also happen to be a glasses wearer, you’re in luck. Next week, Giorgio Armani is launching its Frames of Life line – a collection of spectacles inspired by the brand’s original designs three decades ago. Everyone loves a classic vintage resurrection – need we remind you of YSL? – and let’s not forget fashion’s current love affair with geeky glasses, so the timeliness of Giorgio Armani’s Frames of Life is pretty well-placed, if you ask us. The traditional production methods of the 80s have been given a little 21st century jig to create the new frames, which will comprise of one style for women and one for men – both simple rounded shapes, according to the Daily – each in several colour options. But bad luck if you’re hoping for sunglasses, this is strictly optical only. As with all collections there’ll be a suitably stylish launch to follow, and this one’s taking place in New York next week. There’s set to be a retrospective exhibition where style hunters can take a peek at the old archives as well as a cocktail party at Armani’s Fifth Avenue flagship store, after which the collection will be go on sale officially to the public. Our better senses tell us snap these up – we have a feeling they’ll be quite sought-after once they’re gone. [Images]

Top picks from Billionaire Boys Club

There’s a select few men that it’s really quite OK to admit to having a man-crush on, and one half of Grammy award-winning production team for the Neptunes – Pharrell Williams – is one of them. He’s got the style, he’s got the talent and to top it off he’s got a really cool clothing line that he not only helps design, but also stars in their campaigns. Yes Pharrell’s got it all, and we want a piece of that distinctive style – which is why we’re currently spending a significant amount of time taking our picks from Billionaire Boys Club AW10 range. Pharrell shows us how it’s done as he looks effortlessly stylish in khaki green blazer, jeans, sneakers, hat and super-cool sunglasses. Billionaire Boys Club does that luxurious sportswear look really well but still manages to keep an urban vibe and street wear feel. We’ve also got our eyes on this preppy, college boy tweed blazer with shoulder patches which looks great styled with the relaxed polo and holdall bag, as well as the really great military feel jacket with oversized shearling collar – perfect for winter. Loving your work, Pharrell – we salute you. Visit the Billionaire Boys Club site to see the full AW10 collection.

Men’s Fashion Week Round up, Milan: Days 3 and 4

With Paris Men’s fashion week now in full swing we finish our round up of Milan Men’s fashion week from the 21st and 22nd of June. Ermenegildo Zegna The cravat was key at Zegna, in shades of burnt ombre, rich khaki and royal blue, it was worn just often with the more casual shirting as well as with the traditional suiting. Suits came in shades of peach and marl grey and was worn with tailored shorts and brogues, or worn with open necked shirts that were finished with a cravat. More casual looks had a slightly urban influence with parka style lightweight jackets in rich orange, worn over a striped jersey and paired with bright whites and sandals. But the Riviera influence was never far off with models donning sunglasses and wearing straw hats atop their head or held loosely at the side, as well as checked blazers that gave a contemporary nod towards the classic look. Gucci The look was chic and sleek at Gucci with classic slim fit suiting in luxurious suede and stand-out tailored leather jackets. Like many of the shows blue was a key colour, here coming in smart dark denims, midnight blues and cornflower blue shades and mixed with rich suede browns and rusty orange. Head-to-toe and denim was seen in the form of a safari style suit as well as with the more traditional double breasted suiting done in a denim-look fabric. Knitwear was made for Spring, done light and white in colour and oversized in style, the chunky-knit funnel necked jumpers were worn with super slim trousers in the same shade for ultimate contrast in proportion. Etro Verdant pastures at the Etro show laid the way for a refreshingly light-hearted collection that showed intricate print and embroidery alongside bursts of zesty colour. Tailoring […]

Zandra Rhodes New Handbag Collection

‘My glasses, my purse and my keys,’ those are the essentials that Zandra Rhodes keeps in her handbag, but will she be carrying the Rose clutch or the Quartz shopper I ask, ‘Well [the clutch] is great for going out at night but the shopper is so practical, because I can only wear my heels for so long and I can fit a pair of flat shoes in there too.’ Ah, a woman after our own hearts! Indeed, last night we were treated to a preview of Zandra Rhodes’ new bag collection for AW10, and amongst cocktails and canapes – and a very chic nail bar – we got the chance to pick out our favourites from the range, with a little help from the woman herself. Where do we start? Well there’s the divine Citrine suede envelope clutch in raspberry which is finished with Zandra’s signature and chain detail print, or the colourful Peridot bow-clasp clutch which is embroidered with an abstract image of Zandra’s face. If you’re more of a statement shopper kind of girl like us, then you’ll love the turquoise moonstone bag – with a chain link strap just the right length to sit atop your shoulder and with a clasp opening to a more than ample sized bag, you’ll be able to fit all your essentials (and a pair of flats!) in their easily. Other stand out pieces include the fun Sunstone clasp-close mini bags that feature a rose gold logo plate from her heritage collections, and the half Moonstone clutch bags which make for a perfect evening option. With its bold and fruity colour palette the collection is unmistakably Zandra, but the finishing touches, such as the shocking pink inside of the bags and the heritage prints and logos don’t dominate the look and […]
