Legendary footballer Eric Cantona steals the limelight in the first part of Nikes World cup 2006 campaign, entitled “Play Beautiful”.

The first advert of eight, shows Cantona hijack a tv station and make his own broadcast to remind us what football is about…

“I am here to remind the world that this game is about skills, heart, honour, joy, team spirit… Together — me and you — we can make it beautiful again. Beautiful!”

French designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac paid tribute to Princess Diana in his cool britannia inspired collection at Paris Fashion week yesterday.

Other British icons captured in the collection included Queen Victoria and Shakespeare.

It’s a question which remains unanswered. Fashion or Style, which is no.1? French Connection have chosen to base their whole campaign around this debate. Their new ad depicts two women representing Fashion and Style, in a martial art combat, battling it out to decide who reigns supreme.

Taking moves from Crouching Tiger/Kill Bill neither one triumphs over the other, and the scene ends with both women kissing just before Style head-butts Fashion. The advert is already causing a bit of controversy due to its sexual content…..check it out for yourself here .

If the rumours are correct then Ang Lee looks set to repeat his success with Brokeback mountain with the aid of Charlize Theron and Kate Moss in a film based on the life of legendary 60s soul singer Dusty Springfield.

Kate (who was recently voted most stylish brit) will play one of Springfield’s early lovers opposite Charlize, who is set to take the lead role as Dusty Springfield.

According to channel4.com a source says…

“Kate’s the ideal choice to play the love of Dusty’s early life. She’s beautiful, aloof and she epitomises swinging London,” a source said on ITV.com.

“There’ll probably be sexual scenes but as Ang is behind the camera they will be very tastefully done. Kate’s character breaks Dusty’s heart and sparks off the chain of tumultuous relationships that dogged her throughout her life.”
